Did you know that a 21 year old apprentice could currently be earning £6.40 an hour for their first year of training? If they worked in a part-time job they would be earning at least the national minimum wage of £11.44.    Apprenticeships are a vital way to train and develop the future workforce, giving people the chance to support themselves while they’re learning on the job. They’re also a crucial way for many employers to develop talent from within.    Could bringing the apprenticeship minimum wage in line with the national minimum wage encourage more people to take up an apprentice and learn skills for life? 📢 Calling all early careers leaders and apprenticeship specialists We're collaborating with Association of Apprentices on this event during National Apprenticeship Week, where KPMG UK play host to: Apprenticeships: Expectation v Reality This event looks to bring our unrivalled Cibyl school leaver data, together with Association of Apprentices' data and their community's lived experiences, to provide a true end to end collection of insights, trends and guidance for employers from understanding 13-18 year olds in education, to completing an apprenticeship.
