The Port of Nigg recently welcomed the Ocean Endeavour, where Aventus Energy is contracted by Noble Corporation to carry out various scopes of work, including minor repairs to the lower hull and BOP recertification, which are the key drivers for the 54-day project. Following Noble's acquisition of Diamond Offshore Drilling in November 2024, a rebranding campaign will also be completed — the most visible scope of the project — which will see the Ocean Endeavour depart from Nigg as the Noble Endeavour. There are also several smaller maintenance scopes ongoing during the quayside period, including: the replacement of Demco valves on the HP 4130 mud system; technical assistance with the maintenance of drill floor and BOP handling equipment; installation of additional welfare units and their interconnection to existing vessel systems; and various maintenance scopes across the vessel, involving structural and rope access teams. Iain Sutherland, Aventus Energy’s Operations Manager, commented: "Our highly skilled, multi-disciplinary teams provide combined leadership experience, ensuring we deliver exceptional results on every project. In addition to supporting the rig during their drilling campaigns, our teams also supported their last shipyard project in 2022, where we successfully completed several major scopes under challenging winter conditions in Norway. Aventus Energy recently supported Sarens PSG in the repair, modification, and application of a new coating system to a Monopile Bolting Training Rig. Our skilled, multi-disciplinary team undertook a comprehensive scope of work at our facility within the Port of Cromarty Firth, which included welding, fabrication, rigging, non-destructive testing, paint stenciling, and coating application. Despite a challenging deadline set by the client, our team worked diligently to complete the project on time, ensuring the rig’s readiness for its new home at Moray West’s facility at Buckie Harbour. The rig will now play a crucial role in training personnel for the bolting installation of monopile flanges ahead of offshore deployment to Moray West wind farm. #OffshoreWind #Welding #Fabrication #Rigging #NondestructiveTesting
