Legal Completion & Planning Submission within 7 days 💥   It’s been a big Week for Backhouse, and we’re pleased to announce the completion of our latest land purchase at Saltersford Lane, Chippenham, just a stone’s throw from our head office. This bespoke development will deliver 70 new homes, including 40% affordable housing in the popular Wiltshire market town.   In tandem, our Land and Planning team has been working hard and has already submitted our Reserved Matters Planning Application! The consultant team has created a fantastic scheme that enhances the site’s unique location, incorporating large swathes of landscaping and open space on both the site boundaries and within. The scheme is set to deliver a collection of energy-efficient homes with Air Source Heat Pumps, Electric Vehicle Charging Points and Water Butts for all customers.   Senior Land and Planning Manager Stuart Walter commented, “We’re pleased to have submitted our application and look forward to working collaboratively with Wiltshire Council over the coming months. The land team were pleased to host Winter Drinks alongside Ian Jones and the senior team in Bristol last week. The event allowed agents, architects, planners, and lawyers to meet the team and discuss Backhouse's ambitious growth plan with the continued support of Cheyne Capital.    Michelle Hyde Development Director said ‘ We were delighted to see so many of our development colleagues and contacts join us for the evening. More planning success for Backhouse! We’re excited to announce that our Reserved Matters Planning Application for Highworth Phase 2 has been approved. This next phase will deliver 42 new homes, designed in continuity with our award-winning Highworth Phase 1 scheme. The development will feature Air Source Heat Pumps, EV charging points and 30% affordable housing, all while incorporating a range of ecological enhancements like hedgehog highways, hibernacula, bird and bat boxes, and an improved woodland walk—all designed to enrich the community.
