Today, we published our full year 2024 #BarclaysResults “I am encouraged by our progress in creating a Simpler, Better and More balanced bank. We achieved our financial targets and remain on track to reach our 2026 Group targets. We are providing guidance for 2025, including an improvement in Group RoTE to c.11% and a progressive increase in our total payout. A share grant for our colleagues has also been announced to thank them for their ongoing work to deliver our three-year plan and to further align their efforts with shareholders’ interests." CS Venkatakrishnan, Group Chief Executive. In 2024: ◾ Profit before tax was £8.1bn, up 24% year on year ◾ Income was £26.8bn, up 6% year on year ◾ RoTE was 10.5% achieving our 2024 target of above 10%, and on track for our target of more than 12% in 2026 ◾ Announced £3bn of distributions to shareholders for 2024, an important step in our plan to return at least £10bn to shareholders by 2026. This Includes £1.8bn in buybacks and £1.2bn of dividends, increasing our dividend per share by 5%, to 8.4p per share

It was a pleasure to participate in the #BBCScamSafe Hull roadshow last week. Alongside experts from HSBC, Visa and Age UK , I offered members of the public advice on how to stay #ScamSmart. Having previously being a victim of a scam myself online many years ago, sharing those ‘red flags 🚩’ and top tips is something that I’m so passionate about. Barclays data shows the average purchase scam claim so far this year is over £700, and with so many deals being advertised this week, here are my top tips on how to shop safely in this year's seasonal sales: ⌚Plan ahead and take your time. Always remember to stop and think. 🔗Go straight to the source: Be wary of links that are sent to you and instead go directly to retailers' official websites. 👓Read reviews: Shoppers will often flag bad experiences.
