BBGA British Business and General Aviation Association
Airlines and Aviation
The UK's influential voice for business and general aviation
About us
The BBGA is a not-for-profit organisation representing the full range of activities in business aviation in the UK. This covers the operation of both jet and turboprop aircraft, with flights of a widely disparate nature - including moving equipment/teams between locations, transporting keky people between airports which have no scheduled airline connections and/or working to a timescale of their choice. Business aircraft are also used for search and rescue, medical evacuation, repatriation from conflict zones and connecting remote regions to the rest of the world The wider BBGA membership includes organisations providing products and services to the sector. These include Fixed Base Operators (FBOs), which serve as the equivalent of airport terminals, as well as companies providing maintenance, repair, and overhaul facilities. The service industry behind this whole process includes legal, insurance, training, and financial facilities together with ground operations, fuelling, advanced technology, and research. Many of these organisations are members of the BBGA. These activities are central to aircraft ownership and are vital to enabling smooth aircraft transactions and supporting a rapidly evolving global market Member's opinions are voiced theough workgroups for Flight Operations, Fixed Based Operators, Sustainability, Membership/Events, and Airworthiness. Our board of directors is elected by the members, each serving a 3 year term. We encourage a turnover in our board members to ensure a fresh perspective wherever possible The BBGA has a formal agreement with EBAA to ensure UK-based organisations are represented by a UK-based association, while ensuring the benefits of flying in Europe are included The BBGA also works with the European Council of General Aviation Support (ECOGAS) to provide input to EASA legislation. This ensures that the legislation adopted in the UK is well-suited and undergoes appropriate adjustments before being implemented under the ANO

Martyn Fiddler are excited to have partnered with the BBGA to host the 2025 Isle of Man Aviation Conference, with the ongoing full support of the IOM Aircraft Registry. The Isle of Man Aviation Conference is set to take place on 26th June 2025 at the Villa Marina, Douglas, Isle of Man. Now in its 13th year, the conference continues to be the place to be for all business aviation industry professionals and provides a venue to discuss the issues and challenges facing the industry, whilst showcasing the Isle of Man’s unique ethos towards business in terms of expertise, organisation, energy, and charm. As part of the conference there will also be a number of associated networking events including a pre-conference meeting for delegates arriving on the island, a post-conference reception, and a breakfast meeting the morning after. Excited about our new collaboration with BBGA, Heather Gordon, Legal Director at Martyn Fiddler and previous organiser of the conference agenda told us: “A partnership with the BBGA for the Isle of Man Aviation Conference just made sense – we share the same values and aims, and the same dedication to the business aviation industry. I have been organising the agenda of IOMAC for over 10 years and I am so excited by the enthusiasm Lindsey brings to this event and to pass it into new hands. I have no doubt that 2025 will be the best conference yet!” Lindsey Oliver, Managing Director of the BBGA commented: “The BBGA are delighted to join with Martyn Fiddler for IOMAC 2025. The aviation event calendar is always busy, but IOMAC is a highlight and is an event that is prioritised by leaders and decision makers in Business Aviation. The IOM is integral to the business aviation community and BBGA are well placed to deliver up to date content at the conference on the Island. BBGA and Martyn Fiddler have a long, well established working relationship. Knowledge from both organisations is a perfect match for IOMAC.” Nicole Taylor, organiser of the IOM Aviation Conference at Martyn Fiddler concluded: “The conference is a huge part of our year and a real passion project for Martyn Fiddler. Last year was our biggest year to date, and a complete sell-out event. We’re delighted to be teaming up with BBGA; we feel it’s the best way to continue to take the conference from strength to strength. You can expect the same insightful discussions, beautiful settings and plenty of networking, all with a sprinkle of our famous Martyn Fiddler sense of fun. We cannot wait to welcome you in June!” Registration for IOM Aviation Conference 2025 will open on 11th November. To celebrate the launch we will be offering an Early Bird discounted rate to all delegates who register before the 6th January 2026.
