BEAM are proud to support and showcase 'Pageant on Paper' by Drawing Voices for International Women's Day 2025! The work was inspired by a little known, inspirational theatre maker and suffragette, Edith Craig and her staging of the suffrage play 'A Pageant of Great Women' by Cicely Hamilton. Based in Ware and led by local artist Laura Cordery, Drawing Voices creates collaborative and performance based art. 'Pageant on Paper's a wonderful example of what BEAM advocates for – a community-based, story sharing experience. Make sure to come and see this artwork being shown exclusively today and celebrate these great women past and present through the 331 portraits across the piece!
