About us

Birmingham Hippodrome is a cultural hub that gives everyone the chance to experience unforgettable theatrical performances, arts and culture. We are an independent not-for-profit cultural charity that reinvests its surpluses into enriching the cultural life of the region. Our vision is a world-class Birmingham cultural scene with the Hippodrome centre stage. Birmingham Hippodrome engages with over 500,000 people each year with world-class performances on our two stages, at our spectacular outdoor events and popular festivals and through our Hippodrome Education Network and other transformational participation projects. Our venue is home to Birmingham Royal Ballet, DanceXchange, OneDanceUK and Dance Hub Birmingham. Run by a board of voluntary trustees, we are an independent charity with no revenue funding from public sources. We frequently invest in projects alongside Arts Council England and with Birmingham City Council. Generous support is received from the business community through sponsorship and other partnerships; from individuals through donations and memberships; and from grant-making trusts for special programming and infrastructure projects. As a major employer in the region, we play a leading role in the Southside Business Improvement District. Register for job vacancy alerts here: https://bit.ly/2QabS6C
