On a dark evening in the theatre last week, Team Alex took to the stage for our annual Christmas party! ✨ This year's Awards Gala allowed us to highlight the hard work of team members over the past twelve months, and celebrate our collective achievements. A huge thank you to Fatt Projects (Blu Romantic & Alanna Boden) for hosting the evening & Betty's Waffles for providing delicious food, as well as our technical team for transforming the stage for the party. 📸 Jonathan Hipkiss

This afternoon we took a pit stop at F1® Arcade to catch up, unwind and discover each others’ competitive sides (!) as we crossed the finish line of 2024. We may seem late to the party, but anyone who works in theatre will know that organising a Christmas ‘work do’ during the festive period (aka one of our busiest times of the year) is pretty much impossible. It’s been a great opportunity to restart our engines as we accelerate into 2025. A big thanks to Taylah Catlow for accommodating us.

Ding Dong! Throwback to last week when we invited local press, partners and members from the wider ATGE team to The Book of Mormon for our final press night of 2024. A big thank you to all who joined us for the evening which had us laughing from our head to our (mistle)toes.... who says the Christmas season is just for panto?! 🤩

Can we take a moment to talk about yesterday’s Here & Now Gala Night? We knew we were gonna have a real good time and Birmingham, you did not disappoint… We welcomed over 1200 people through our doors, including reviewers, influencers, drag icons and there was even time for some celebrity spotting. However, a gala night for a brand new Steps musical would not be complete without Steps themselves! From their arrival on our pink carpet through to their surprise appearance in the Megamix at the end of the performance, the roars from the crowd were testament to not only them, but this beautiful show that has been brought to life here in Birmingham. Plus, for the fans that have travelled far and wide, Steps announced that this joyous show is embarking on a UK tour next year, visiting many of our sister ATG venues. So, it’s safe to say that last night was the night of our lives and a huge thank you to everyone on and off stage for making it such a memorable one for all of us at The Alex.
