Yesterday, we invited Bluecrest Wellness (our health assessment provider) back on site to provide colleagues with a free mini health check. The assessment covered a range of checks including biometrics analysis, blood pressure, cholesterol levels, diabetes risk and muscular health. Great to see Jason Morris quoted in Health & Protection about the growth of our intermediary and partnerships business as conversations about health shift from treatment towards prevention. Recent history has been about increasing demand for health related products and services, but also claims going up and increasing premiums for products like PMI. That means that including health assessments as a value added service is not only a point of difference for insurers and intermediaries, it can also have a positive impact by helping to reduce future claims costs over time, by identifying health risks and illnesses early, allowing earlier interventions and supporting customers in their journey to live with health confidence. Our recent research with over 2,000 consumers shows strong demand. Some 65% of Brits are worried they won't get support to prevent chronic disease, or to catch it early enough, on the NHS, while 86% would be interested in a health assessment.
