    🔴 We have multiple clients looking to hire experienced Machine Learning researchers - these are across different US locations 🔴 They are looking for PhD level researchers ideally that have specialised in ML from that point and that have gone on to gain industry experience at AI/ML Labs or have been conducting Machine Learning research in the quantitative finance industry already. Compensation will be extremely competitive across the board with no upper limit being out of consideration for the right candidate with the expertise and knowledge to justify the ask. We have roles across experience levels, some would be leadership level from the outset helping shape the direction of their Machine Learning research efforts - others would be more individual contributor roles initially.     Was great to spend some time with the Bowden Brown team away from the office last week, and would definitely recommend Electric Shuffle to anyone looking for a team activity. Everyone here puts in a shift so it was great to finish what had been a busy week up a little early and to do something different for a couple of hours. Back to it today, with some great roles to be focusing on & some very strong people we’re partnering with on their job searches. I’m thinking ahead to our next outing, would be great to hear of any London based ideas that other people have enjoyed…

    Bowden Brown is celebrating International Women's Day & recognising the need to continue to highlight the effort and drive needed to increase female participation in the quantitative finance space. Many companies are making real strides to build more diverse teams that are a better reflection of the wider world - but undoubtedly there is more to be done. We want to make sure we play our part, and are keen to support initiatives that focus on getting more women in to careers in STEM. We're proud to have today made a £500 donation to Stemettes - a charity focused on encouraging girls and young women into technical fields.

    It's a busy time for interviews. Many senior candidates have received their bonus and are exploring opportunities. I think one of the hardest things to get right is the level of detail to go in to & the amount of information to be sharing in interview... It's a really hard balance to strike between not saying too much, and potentially being in breach of restrictions and obligations to your current employer and saying nothing at all and making it almost impossible for an interviewer to make any real judgment on your expertise and knowledge. Clearly respecting boundaries is also an important part of being a good interviewer too! From experience I think challenging this head on can be a good approach - if there is a question you don't feel you can answer without overstepping then just say that. Perhaps explain the high level answer but make it clear that you wouldn't be comfortable going in to more depth. This gives the interviewer the chance to reframe the question... Just clamming up and worrying about what you can/can't say is never a great approach and can lead to some fairly awkward exchanges... It's a good idea to think about what you can cover, and detail you can share before an interview - that way you can be ready to offer the details/insights you know you can and to demonstrate your ability/knowledge in a way that gives the firm you're speaking to a decent sense of what you could bring to the table. It throws a lot of candidates that haven't done their prep - so one to give some thought to if you're going to be interviewing anytime soon...!

The ideal level would be somewhere between 1-4 years. We work in a highly collaborative way, keeping in mind that the service we offer candidates and clients is the primary concern. The current team is highly experienced and knowledgeable so this person will be able to leverage this from day one.
