About us

We make creative content and immersive experiences, that change the way people feel. We work with forward-thinking brands, maximising their reach and impact across owned, earned and paid channels. We offer all the services you’d expect to see from a ‘digital’ agency. But we are creatively led and social media centred. We uncover original insights to produce pioneering work, including multiple world-firsts. Then we get those creations seen and shared by the right people, in the right places. Winner of The Marketing Society Star Awards - digital category - 6 golds, 5 silvers, in 7 years.

Recent animation work from our talented team for our friends at Ardbeg (The Glenmorangie Company). A suite of social content vids to support the launch of their 21 Years Old in Global Travel Retail outlets, the release (and our creative) draws inspiration from the ancient mystery of 'Seann Creag' on Islay and the bravery, and ehm... doggedness of the brand’s canine mascot, Shortie, who boldly navigates the rugged terrain, catching the alluring scents of sherried oak as the whisky matures below… Sláinte 🐕🦺

We were honoured when CELCIS (the Centre for Excellence for Children’s Care and Protection) asked us to create a short film to help young people understand what a Section 25 arrangement is. It’s a sensitive topic - when Social Services step in to protect children and young people from harm.   To guide the story, we developed Pete, a ‘big brother’ figure who’s been through it all himself. Through careful co-creation with the CELCIS team, the end result was a 3 min animated film, plus a shorter cutdown version and supporting statics with key messaging.   If you'd like to learn more about this project, get in touch. And be thankful for what you’ve got, folks. ❤️ Watch the full video on CELCIS website: https://lnkd.in/gXTksMYz

BURGER KING UK gives new mums the ultimate 'Foodfillment'. When researching, we found the food you have straight after giving birth is one of the most amazing and unforgettable feelings ever. And for some mums, that feeling is brought to them by Burger King. ‘Bundles of Joy’ uses real images of mums who turned to their beloved Burger King for their first meal after birth, with the exact arrival time of their burger featured on every execution.

Our top 5 takeaways from the brilliant The Marketing Society Scotland's Trendspotting event last week event hosted by MadeBrave at The Social Hub in Glasgow.      1. Don’t let creativity be blown away by the Wind Tunnel Effect.  Steven Hadden, of MadeBrave, highlighted a phenomenon known as 'The Wind Tunnel Effect' - the point when cars all began to look the same, as they'd all been tested in the same wind tunnel.    If everyone has the same influences, the end results become the same. True creativity happens when different inspirations and influences collide.     2. Don’t let AI just say ‘aye’ to you.    Rod Gillies, Creative Director of The Dalmore, was once told, "The only way to good ideas is to have hundreds of thousands of sh*te ideas." So good ideas often stem from bad ones being interrogated… whereas AI often just reinforces the thinking we feed it.     So we came up with our own Bright Signals solution - an AI platform designed to be intentionally offensive and critical.... Time for Chat GTF?      3. Think formats, not campaigns.  Ian Greenhill from Studio Something advised shifting focus from campaigns to formats. In a world where brands compete with YouTube creators for attention, think about formats that can outlive a campaign – the brand equivalent of Hot Ones. Meet the audience on their own terms.      4. Nostalgia may be tried and tested, but it can still be a trap.  Nostalgia is powerful because it’s tried and tested - that's why Hollywood constantly reboots or remakes. Brands often do the same, but the challenge is clear - how do you tap into nostalgia while still allowing for creativity and innovation?     5. When nostalgia inspires, it creates Newstalgia.  Rachel Hughes of Weber Shandwick introduced us to Newstalgia; leveraging nostalgia to create something new, rather than simply bringing back the old. For example, the Barbie Phone (inspired by the one in the movie) gave safety-conscious parents a stripped-back phone their kids actually wanted, rather than a reproduction of an old Nokia.    ***     It was a great event that really got us thinking about the challenges and opportunities in creative thinking today. Nostalgia and AI can help but they must only be used to support fresh, original thinking. Not to repeat the past. Onwards, yo...

Yesterday I attended The Marketing Society event Trendspotting with a few more of the team at Bright Signals. All of the talks were really interesting and it was great to have a deep dive into ‘Collisions’ and how this applies to culture and many different facets of Adverting and Marketing. We delved into subjects such as the Sea of Blandness, AI, “acts not ads” and nostalgia (or newstalgia ✨). Thanks to all the speakers for an inspiring morning 🫶🏻💡 Rod Gillies, Steven Hadden, Paloma Pini-Reed, 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️Naresh Subhash, Jamie Axford, Ian Greenhill, Paul Menzies, Rachel Hughes, Michael Hart, Olivia Donaldson See you again soon!

We recently redesigned, redeveloped and consolidated a 4000-page corporate website and two micro-sites into a brand new, cohesive, user-friendly platform build for the brilliant Scotland Food & Drink organisation, enhancing navigation, functionality and overall brand presentation. The new site promotes SF&D’s strategic partnerships, training programs and membership benefits, while also showcasing news, social updates, and job vacancies. 😋 Our content development included co-writing key pages, curating authentic photography and producing member story films to highlight their impact… Perfectly packaging their offerings and encouraging new memberships.
