  • Everyone loves something for nothing! During the day, open blinds and shutters to benefit from the warmth and free energy from the sun. ☀️ Sun rays can pass through the glass and help warm your home. • Blinds, shutters and awnings are a proven energy saving solution, reducing reliance on heating, cooling and artificial lighting. 🙌 In the UK, the effectiveness of shading products is still poorly recognised despite the fact that more and more homes and buildings are being designed with large areas of glazing. Our research proved that blinds and shutters can reduce heat loss through windows by up to 33%; they are also low maintenance and have a long life. • Your windows have blinds, but what about your doors? 🤔 Glazed areas are one of the main sources of heat loss in a home, if there are no blinds or shutters installed it’s a missed opportunity to retain heat in a room. Installing blinds for openings including bi-fold doors and patio doors does not mean you have to compromise on a reduction in natural daylight or views to your garden and outdoor spaces. ☀️🪴 Look for product features such as no drill blinds that sit neatly inside the window panel, and products such as roller blinds that offer a slimline design. • Looking for energy efficiencies in the home? Don't forget about blinds and shutters. 🪟✨ Windows are typically the weak point in the building facade and heat will always find its way to the colder surfaces. To maximise the effectiveness of the blinds, the smaller the gap between the sides of the blind and the window frame reveal, the better. Measure and fit tight to the window reveal to reduce heat loss. Read more about the energy saving properties of blinds and shutters ➡️ https://lnkd.in/er52_9F2 #BlindsMakeBetter
