This week we've submitted proposals to Birmingham City Council for one of the UK's first energy-positive tall buildings. The Narrow House will create 249 Co-Living apartments with supporting communal amenities, optimising its canalside location in the city centre. Designed by Broadway Malyan for local developer and investor GNM Developments Limited , the proposals feature more than 4,000m2 of Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) on the building facades. When complete, the building will capture more energy than the predicted needs of residents, with the ambition for the excess to be fed back into a local microgrid and allowing neighbours to benefit from this sustainable energy source. Subject to planning consent, work on The Narrowhouse would begin in 2026 with completion scheduled for 2028. #SustainableLiving #FutureOfCities #EnergyPositive Hugo Fitzgerald
