We want to extend a big thank you to Nick, the manager at Crown Decorating Centres in Orpington, for generously donating paint and decorating supplies. Thanks to this support, we're able to refresh our Station Road Training Centre just in time for our new starters in September. We're also excited to give our meeting room at Rutland House, as well as the hall and toilets at Cotmandene Day Opportunities Scheme, a fresh coat of paint. We're truly grateful for the support of local businesses in helping us create a welcoming environment for everyone.

Congratulations to our Project SEARCH interns at the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH), William Frewer (left) and Charlie Key (right), for winning awards! William Frewer was awarded the College of South London Principal's Award at this year's South London Best Learner and Teacher Awards at a ceremony at the House of Lords. William was nominated by Dave King, London South East Colleges Course Leader at Project SEARCH. Dave was impressed that William created a role for himself working alongside the Learning Disability Clinical Lead Nurse to educate staff to better support neurodiverse people to feel included and to achieve better outcomes. Dave said: "William has taken responsibility for promoting neurodiversity and uses his own story to make others aware of the impact they can have on the lives of people with disabilities" PRUH Intern Charlie Key won the King’s Stars Quarterly Award based on his great work during his placement as a Health Care Assistant in the Planned Investigation Unit. During the award ceremony at the PRUH, Charlie was presented with a King’s Stars badge and certificate as a token of the Trust’s appreciation for his exceptional effort and dedication in delivering the best service to patients. Well done to you both! *Project SEARCH is a year-long Supported Internship Programme is for young adults with learning disabilities and/or autism, who want to find competitive employment. Bromley Mencap is working in partnership with Kings College NHS Trust, London South East Colleges and the London Borough of Bromley to support students while on placement at the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH). Yesterday, our various teams came together for a staff training day to discuss our vision, mission and values. It was an enjoyable day and we left feeling excited about the future of Bromley Mencap. This, along with consultations with volunteers, members, and those who draw on our support, will help us develop a new strategic plan for the organisation.
