About us

Founded in 1992, Brothers Drinks Co Ltd is owned by four brothers whose family have been making cider in Shepton Mallet, Somerset, UK, since 1658. In the 1950's, their grandfathers launched Britain's best known sparkling cider, Babycham. In 1995 Michael Eavis gave the brothers space to operate a bar near the Jazz World Stage of the Glastonbury Festival. Over the next 10 years, Brothers Bar grew in popularity, and by 2005, Brothers Cider had entered the market in both on and off trade. Today, the brothers continue to produce traditional ciders, and curious fruit-flavours such as Toffee Apple and Cherry Bakewell as part of their Brothers Cider Range. In 2022 Brother Festival Apple cider was the ‘official cider’ of Glastonbury Festival. Brothers Cider it continues to be one of the fastest growing cider brands in the market. Brother's Drinks Co. Ltd is a leading provider of contract manufacturing and bottling services employing over 250 people. The company produces 140 million bottles annually, and over 1.5 billion bottles over the last 15 years.

We’re thrilled to be able to announce once again that Brothers is the Official Cider of Glastonbury Festival 2025! With over 200,000 people attending Glastonbury Festival each day, and an international TV audience of millions each year, this is really exciting for us! Our Brothers Festival Apple Cider will be available at over 100 bars during the 5-day Festival, a refreshing, medium dry cider produced at our cider mill Shepton Mallet using apples grown in our orchards, only 3 miles away from Worthy Farm – it doesn’t get any more local than that! This year is extra special for us though, as it’s 30 years since Brothers first came to light at West Holts, or the Jazz World Stage as it was then. We were born at Glastonbury Festival in 1995 and have remained ever since! Festivals have been and will continue to be part of our DNA for more years to come. So, if you happen to be lucky enough to have tickets, then come and say hello to us at the B-BAR!

  • Harvest Time! Harvest season has arrived at Brothers Drinks! As the summer has faded, our apples reach peak ripeness and are ready for picking, signalling the start of our favourite time of year. Let's talk about the journey of these apples. They begin as spring blossoms, ripening through the summer, and come autumn, they're just right for cider-making. This season is essential to the cider process - it's officially harvest time! Our Somerset orchards, located just six miles from our mill, yield some of the juiciest, crunchiest apples, with every size and shape represented - including the beautifully “wonky” ones. Our commitment to sustainability doesn’t end with the final sip...we’ve found innovative ways to repurpose every part of our harvest. The leftover fruit pomace, which was once classed as waste, now funds a new life as a source of energy! In fact, it was used to heat the Shepton Mallet swimming pool. We value our long-standing partnerships with local farmers, who help make each harvest special and each cider unique. Without the local support the goodness of Brothers would not be doable! https://lnkd.in/eCsANs6x

  • Solar-powered cider! Here at Brothers Drinks we are harnessing the energy of the sun to power the site at Shepton Mallet. A massive 317kW, 772-solar panel system is now installed at the cider mill, where it will directly supply the presses with clean energy. The system has been supplied by Bristol-based renewable energy specialist Solarsense.   The solar panels are part of an ongoing commitment to sustainability, which also includes minimising water usage, pioneering new recycling methods like enabling the backing from labels to be recycled, and operating a zero-to-landfill policy. Additionally, the company offsets carbon emissions and supports biodiversity with 150 acres of orchard located just five miles from the cider mill.
