I've been doing a lot of weekend warrior stuff for personal projects and wanted to give a shout out to some software I've enjoyed using. Metabase (business intelligence) Was looking for something to replace Looker that wouldn't break the bank. I was able to get their open source edition up and running with Docker in like an hour or so. After that it was even easier to connect up my database and get some reports built. So far it's been a vast improvement over Looker in terms of setup and usability. n8n (low code/no code) Currently using this to sync up Airtable with a MySQL database. Very intuitive and they have integrations with EVERYTHING you could ever want. It's not a software you would use as a frontend, but it's an awesome tool for any logic you'd like to build out in a low code fashion. Budibase (low code/no code) This has always been my go to for setting up internal tools for any random ideas I have. Really enjoy working within the tool and I'm always pumped to see what new features they have coming down the pipe. Supabase (database/backend) This is another go to for me when I need a database for anything. Dabbled with the cloud functions/auth as well and it's really cool. #software #businessintelligence #lowcode #nocode #database #backend #tools #techtools
