Shared by our friends Real Estate Balance, this survey from 2-3 Degrees was created by young people who want to better understand the built environment sector. Can you help them gather insights into the experiences, challenges, and career pathways of built environment professionals? The insights collected will contribute to: - Increase awareness among young people about the wide range of career opportunities available. - Highlight career pathways by collecting real-world experiences from professionals at different levels. - Identify challenges to help improve talent attraction and retention. - Support inclusivity and diversity by understanding the barriers different individuals may encounter. Lend a helping hand by completing the survey here: https://lnkd.in/dy6Dg-pn

Earlier this month the Bridge Group, supported by JLL Foundation and Building People network member Real Estate Balance, released its 2025 research study: Building for the Future: Socio-economic diversity and inclusion in UK Real Estate. Research shows that "leading real estate organisations face a stark lack of socio-economic diversity, especially in senior roles... The sector is being outpaced by peer industries like law and financial services when it comes to making progress in this area." It's time for Supply Chain Sustainability School (UK)'s annual Fairness, Inclusion and Respect (FIR) Culture Impact survey - can you give ten minutes to share your thoughts about working in the built environment sector? This industry-wide initiative aims to make workplaces better for everyone. Findings will guide actions for lasting change in workplace culture and shape the FIR Programme to meet our shared goals of a fairer, more respectful and inclusive built environment sector. Results will be shared with those who can influence and drive culture change within the sector, helping them understand where more effort is needed. The survey should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete and responses are treated confidentially. https://lnkd.in/dP8NZfsT

If not already spotted (and shortly to be added to our Resources module), Timewise has published its landmark 2025 report, supported by abrdn Financial Fairness Trust: 'Ending the Two-Tier Workforce', finds that frontline workers, just under a third of the workforce, or 10.5 million people - are missing out on the control, dignity, and health benefits that come with predictable, flexible and secure jobs. Four trailblazing leaders from the construction, retail, transport, health and care sectors, employing almost nine million workers between the, are backing Timewise's call for active partnerships between industry and government, including for the Department for Business and Trade to: 🔹 Set up new industrial forums to resolve sector-specific challenges, with the transport & logistics and construction sectors as first priorities. 🔹 Create a new ‘Modern Working Lives Taskforce’ to ensure that the government’s Employment Rights Bill is successfully implemented in low-paying sectors, to narrow the widening gap in the two-tier workforce. 🔹 Work with sectors and experts on the development of industry-wide sector-specific guidance and best practice models across all low-paying industries.
