Myself, Olivia Burke, Derek McGeehan and Patricia McNeill were delighted to be invited guests on Friday to the launch of the new Voco Hotel in the Gasworks Belfast. Many thanks and many congratulations to Danielle McGinley on a superb launch. You could tell there must have been enormous effort put into making this the success it was. This new look hotel really does look amazing and well worth a visit. I have been a patron of this hotel from it first opened in 2004 and look forward to many more visits in the weeks and months ahead! In fact, we will be having a launch event of our own in the Hotel in September so watch this space!!!!!

Who was to know I had a cousin in St Louis!!! It was a delight to meet Professor Greg Burke at the recent Timoney Institute alumni masterclass held in the Titanic Hotel Belfast. This was another highly impressive leadership learning experience delivered by Greg Burke, where he stimulated debate and discussion around several challenging case studies. It was also brilliant to meet the Timoney management team, many new leaders in the room and of course my esteemed friends from Timoney ALP 2019. For any of you who haven't been involved or even know about Timoney Institute executive learning, I would highly recommend it and very happy to help if interested.

This week I was delighted to be invited onto the Ormeau Business Park Tom Beare Bursury Schools Panel. Thank you Patricia McNeill!! Each year, the directors of Ormeau invite a select group of 6 or 7 young people from two local schools [Wellington College and St Josephs College] to come into the boardroom and present their application to obtain a bursury award to assist them in their preparation and early start in University. I met and listened to all of these fantastic young ladies from St Josephs and couldn't fail but be impressed by their determination to overcome adversity and go onto University. In many cases they will be the first in their family to attend University. A fantastic initiative from the directors and management at Ormeau Business Park and I wish all of these young people from St Josephs College and Wellington College every success for the future.
