Innovate UK Business Connect is supporting Clean Colour Ltd, a plant-based embellishment company, to identify innovative solutions enabling high throughput die-cutting of bioplastic film into biodegradable sequins, which can run at the speeds industry currently requires for scaled fabric manufacture. Clean Colour is seeking UK-based innovators that can provide a solution to the challenge of machining sequins onto substrate fabrics at speeds on par with current, fossil based, sequin solutions. 21 new units that will provide more than 30,000 sq. ft of light industrial workspace for local start-ups and growing businesses close to the city centre. The industrial units incorporate a range of low carbon, energy efficiency measures. These include roof-mounted photovoltaic panels, super insulation, and low-energy smart lighting. Chargers are available for electric vehicles in a new parking area, and bicycle storage facilities will also be available onsite. Unit sizes range from 750 sq. ft to 2,500 sq. ft.
