Four years ago, we set out on a mission to reduce our environmental impact, and as we release our latest Sustainability Update, we have been reflecting on that journey. What started as a good-faith commitment has become a core value that now drives every aspect of our operations. Since 2022, we have achieved a 98 percent reduction in our emissions through initiatives like transitioning our fleet to HVO fuel and installing solar panels to power our operations, and we were recently recognised and honoured to win the Carbon Neutrality Award at the Anglian Water Supplier Awards. Over the years, we have seen a growing demand for truly sustainable suppliers, and it is clear that businesses and communities alike are embracing the challenge. We are proud to be leading the way in our industry through our commitment to sustainability and our continual progress in reducing our carbon footprint. We're committed to reducing our carbon footprint, and our February numbers speak for themselves with just 462.59 kg of CO₂e across our entire fleet of 16 vehicles - That’s only 28.91 kg of CO₂e per vehicle for the entire month! We achieved this by using 2,863.47 gallons (13,000.15 litres) of HVO fuel instead of traditional diesel. To put that into perspective: ❌ Diesel Equivalent Emissions: 32,667 kg of CO₂e ✅ Our Actual Emissions: 462.59 kg of CO₂e That’s a massive 32,204 kg of CO₂e saved in just one month! We’re proud to have supported Colchester City Council with a contract lift for the replacement of the building’s water tank at the historic Colchester Town Hall, right on our doorstep! With only one access point—a door on the roof at the base of the clock tower—precision was key. Using the Bocker AK46, we lifted 1 GRP water tank in two sections (200kg each) during a night shift from 10 PM to midnight to minimise disruption. This lift required careful planning from October, including applying for a road closure, but our team pulled it off seamlessly. ⭐ Client Feedback: "Your team were fantastic, made it look very easy. Looking back at a great project at Sackers Recycling Centre in Claydon, Ipswich, where we worked with Roy Cribb from Process Maintain on a contract lift to install a new cyclone plant. 🌪️ For this lift, we used a 110t Liebherr LTM1110 and a 40t Liebherr LTM1040, carrying out a top and tail manoeuvre to carefully position the cyclone. This technique required both cranes to lift the cyclone from horizontal to vertical, with precision and coordination ensuring a smooth and safe installation. Cyclones play a crucial role in recycling operations, using high-speed air movement to separate solid particles from liquids or gases—an essential process for efficient waste management. Partnering with RWE, we recently tackled a new challenge at the Galloper Wind Farm Operations and Maintenance Facility at Harwich International Port. Tasked with safely handling six 90-tonne cable reels—valued at £1M each—and replacing degraded supports, we designed and installed a durable solution built to last. Operating as Principal Contractor under strict CDM Regulations, we combined advanced lift management, meticulous planning, and innovative engineering to execute this contract seamlessly. With no disruption to operations, the project was delivered on time and on budget, further reinforcing our reputation for excellence. This project showcases our ability to innovate, adapt, and deliver exceptional results under complex conditions. We were recently called in for a unique project at Diss Town Football Club, tasked with dismantling 8 towering 18.5m lattice light structures to make way for modern folding mast towers. With tight access around the pitch and a maximum radius of 5m to still achieve the required head height, this was a precise and well-planned operation. Each light tower was carefully dismantled in 350kg sections with our Hoeflon C10 Spider Crane with millimetre precision, ensuring a safe and efficient job under challenging conditions. Want to see our latest bit of kit in action?! 👀 Last month, our Liebherr Group LTM 1230-5.1 was hard at work just down the road from our Colchester HQ, lifting a series of acoustic enclosures for our client, Esion Acoustics Ltd. In total, three enclosures were expertly moved. The Liebherr LTM 1230-5.1 was the ideal crane for the task, providing exceptional manoeuvrability to handle these heavy, bulky containers in a tight yard space. With its impressive 230-tonne capacity and a telescopic boom extending up to 75 metres, the LTM 1230-5.1 offered the perfect combination of power and precision. Its high tech spec also ensured maximum stability, even in the constrained conditions of the site. To ensure a smooth and precise lift, spreader beams were employed, showcasing the expertise and equipment that Cadman Cranes brings to every project. 🏗️ No matter the challenge, we have the right crane and the right team for the job!
