It’s hard to find expertise beyond what Peter Bill brings to the table – we welcomed ex EG and Building magazine editor and author of some of the most thought-provoking books in the sector to our latest HeadStart training session. How do you distil all that experience into an hour? Not easy but we covered land values and market dynamics, the challenges of permitted development rights, the dangers within density and the solutions within great design, not to mention what he thinks the government should do to solve Britain’s housing crisis, that ‘1.5 million homes within this parliament’ figure and what he would do if he woke up one morning to find that he’d turned into Angela Rayner…. Thoughtful session, provocative questions. Thank you, Peter, for taking the time, delving into your excellent books (Planet Property and Broken Homes) for anecdotes and insights, and giving the Camargue team a perspective from 40+ years working across real estate.

“We’re not in the business of picking winners but we are in the business of building on strengths.” This was the Prime Minister’s message at the launch of the national industrial strategy green paper. But Labour’s approach will rely to a degree on picking winners, no matter how it’s packaged. In our latest Camargue blog, Matt Sutton shares his initial takeaways on the new industrial strategy green paper and calls for businesses to get involved in the consultation.
