Hello everyone, Today I took part of a virtual Apprenticeship Overview held by Career Compass. As a year 12 student interested in a legal apprenticeship, this hour long overview provided me with some great tips and tricks for when applying. Tatiana Middleton, from RateMyApprenticeship, was amazing at explaining the process of applying to apprenticeships and the benefits of choosing this route. Some helpful tools I learnt was using STAR when applying for jobs, apprenticeships, universities, etc. It stands for Situation Task Action Result. Use this strategy in the interview stage when asked about past experiences and make sure to elaborate and be conhrerent when talking about it. I feel more confident about my knowledge on apprenticeships and am glad I joined today. :)

Hey network! Today I had the amazing opportunity to participate in a virtual CV Workshop held by Career Compass and lead by Katie Linshits-Adaya. The workshop was highly informative on how to write a good CV and detailed on what to include, the format and what to not include. The workshop gave details on how to make your CV stand out in the few seconds an employer would take to scan over it, which emphasised the importance of keeping a CV brief and including key pieces of information. This stood out to me the most as it highlighted how a perfect candidate could be overlooked due to their CV not being formatted or layed out in a certain away. I am ever so grateful to Career Compass and Katie Linshits-Adaya , along with the industry professionals who featured in select videos as I have now gained a better understanding towards how to write a suitable and stand out CV.

Hello all, I joined a one hour seminar by Career Compass called Choose the career of your dreams. It was extremely helpful and gave clear tips for students trying to figure out what future career they want. What stood out for me the most is how every changing careers are and to not be nervous of the decisions we make today because our careers change throughout our life!
