Looking to recruit? Need some advice? Interested in some free coaching around neurodiversity? Have a read through the post and resources below:
It’s really important to the University of Nottingham that we’re able to develop partnerships with businesses. Sometimes that can be to source talent, sometimes it can be to help deliver a project and it almost always results in a very helpful discussion about shared aims and objectives. We’ve got plenty of resources available to help business who are looking to recruit – if you’re new to recruiting students and graduates, or want to refresh your approach then have a chat with us. We’ve got resources on our website, but equally having a discussion with you about what it is you’re looking for is equally helpful. https://lnkd.in/ehTAx2zx We’re running some in-person events in March to help businesses better support colleagues who are neurodiverse. Our event on 26th March is full, but we still have spaces available for the session on Wednesday 6th March where we’ll be looking at Inclusive Recruitment, Reasonable Adjustments and Removing Barriers. An external coach and EDI Consultant, Shelagh Roberts, is going to lead the session. If you’d like to find out more, have a chat with Vicky Torr, and if you’d like to book a space for 6th March sign-up online: https://lnkd.in/eZ6u3cRN

It was great to be able to support the Love Business EXPO last week. The University of Nottingham team spoke to plenty of great contacts and I’m looking forward to working on follow-up conversations this week. One message that came through clearly was how keen local businesses were to recruit talented people into their companies. Whether that is an apprentice, an intern, a placement student, a graduate, a knowledge exchange associate or an experienced hire every conversation I had last week touched on the importance of being around good people. Sometimes through, getting the right person isn’t easy – and that’s not simply down to lack of applicants, it could be down to uncertainty about what it is you want, where to advertise, what salary level to pitch the role at, what to put in a job description and all that before how to actually identify the person you need. We’re here to help! If you need any advice or guidance about recruiting students and graduates then get in touch. We’d be delighted to have that conversation with you and share some of the resources we’ve put together within the Careers and Employability Service that might help answer some of the questions above. Drop me a message on here or have a look at https://lnkd.in/e-6ipUQz
