We are Carer Support Wiltshire! A charity dedicated to supporting carers and creating carer friendly communities in Wiltshire. If you are looking after someone, we are here to support you. 💕 You could be looking after a parent, child, sibling, partner or grandparent or friend. You could be helping with household tasks such as cleaning or cooking, administering medication, organising and transporting someone to medical appointments, providing personal care or providing emotional support. You could be doing it once a day, a couple of times a week or all the time. There are no time limits to being a carer. No matter your situation, we are here to support you. 🌟 This week, unpaid carer Rosario is diving deep into the important topic of mental health myth-busting! 🧠 We've all encountered the damaging portrayals of mental ill health in movies, TV shows, and various media outlets, often depicting those who struggle as caricatures or villains. The truth is that individuals experiencing mental health challenges are just like you and me. 💙 These harmful misconceptions can have a profound impact, often leading to feelings of isolation, shame, and a reluctance to seek help. Many people might distance themselves from loved ones or hesitate to reach out for support, fearing judgment or misunderstanding. Very many of us in our lives will either need the care and support of a loved one or will be the one providing the care and support for a loved one (or perhaps both). Carer Support Wiltshire and Dorset helps people on their caring journey and sometimes people help Carer Support Wiltshire and Dorset through volunteering their time and skills. One way of volunteering, particularly for people who have lived experience of caring or being cared for, is by being a Trustee. We are thrilled to announce the launch of our brand-new service, Carer Money Matters, and we’re on the lookout for passionate individuals to join our dedicated team as Financial Wellbeing Officers! 🎉 📍 Location: Wiltshire/Dorset Based 🕘 Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 am – 5 pm 💼 Vacancies: Full and Part-Time Available 💰 Pay Scale: £28,000 FTE As a key member of our team, you’ll play an essential role in shaping financial wellbeing support for carers in our community. Your responsibilities will include: 📞 Answering calls and providing information, support, and tailored advice to carers. 🏡 Offering one-to-one support through home visits, community events, and virtual appointments. 🗣️ Delivering engaging talks on fuel poverty and income maximisation. 📝 Assisting carers with applications for essential services.
