CCU International had the incredible opportunity to attend a Scottish Labour Party event last night in #Edinburgh at the stunning Dundas House, home of the Royal Bank of Scotland Business and NatWest. We were fortunate to hear from leaders Keir Starmer, the UK Prime Minister & Labour Party Leader, and Anas Sarwar, the Scottish Labour Party Leader who shared their insights into the future, plans for growth, and ambitions for our business communities. Both leaders emphasised the importance of collaboration and innovation as we navigate the challenges ahead. A key highlight was the discussion around GB Energy and its potential to drive sustainable growth and energy security across the UK. It was also great to hear from NatWest CEO Paul Thwaite and one of the exceptional female entrepreneurs that they have supported over the years. CCU International are excited to be part of the conversation around #CCUS and look forward to a brighter future! 🔥 Last night, I had the privilege of hosting a fireside chat with Rt Hon Rachel Reeves, the UK’s Chancellor of the Exchequer, at the University of Glasgow to celebrate #InternationalWomensDay 🌟 In a room filled with incredible female business leaders, we explored the vital role of women in driving economic growth, the challenges of #entrepreneurship, and the policies needed to build a more inclusive and equitable business landscape. 💡 Rachel shared her journey as the UK’s first female Chancellor, offering powerful insights on breaking barriers in politics and finance, and the importance of ensuring that women have the support they need to start, scale, and lead businesses. From tackling the funding gap for women-led ventures to making the UK a leader in workplace equity, this conversation was more than just a discussion, it was a rallying call for action. 🙌🏼 A huge thank you to everyone who joined and contributed to the thought-provoking discussions. We all need to continue to push forward to ensure that female entrepreneurs and leaders have the opportunities, access, and support they deserve. Thank you to those that joined us last night in the audience, Eileen Cooper, Emma Lamont, Sehar Shahid, Doris Reiter, Maya Vertigans, Jodie Sinclair, Caroline Laurenson, Kim McMurray and many others. To Kirsty McNeill MP and Jackie Baillie for the opening introduction and closing comments. And of course the sponsors, and the one and only Bernie Gray whom without this would not have been possible! #WomenInBusiness #Leadership #InternationalWomensDay #EconomicEmpowerment #RachelReeves #CCUInternational #IntoNetZero #WomenInNewEnergy

📢 Strategic partnership announcement between CCU International and Caox AS to accelerate the commercialisation of cutting-edge carbon capture and mineralisation (CCM) technologies. 🚀 🌏 This collaboration aims to transform captured carbon emissions into #stable, #marketable #minerals, providing industries with sustainable solutions to reduce emissions and achieve net-zero targets. By focusing on hard-to-abate sectors such as waste-to-energy, paper, cement, steel, and energy, we plan to scale demonstration projects and launch commercial operations by 2028. This initiative is projected to generate joint revenues exceeding £150 million over the next decade. Ole Jacob Sandal, CEO of Caox, commented: "This partnership marks a major step forward in making carbon mineralisation a mainstream climate solution. By working with CCU International, we are developing a circular carbon model that turns emissions into valuable resources” Caox is owned by Valinor, a family-owned investment company behind Norway’s largest private wind company, Norsk Vind AS. Jarle Veshovde, investment director at Valinor, adds: ‘This partnership represents the best of what Valinor stands for – accelerating innovation to solve major climate challenges. Caox and CCU International bring together the technology and expertise needed to fundamentally change how industries deal with carbon emissions”. 🌎 Together, we are committed to pioneering innovative technologies that not only mitigate carbon emissions but also convert them into valuable resources, driving a more sustainable future for industries worldwide. 📢 CCU International are thrilled to announce the successful trial at UPM - The Biofore Company's Scottish paper mill in Irvine, where we've begun the journey to transform carbon emissions into eco-friendly detergents. At CCU International, we're thrilled to see our multi-award winning carbon capture technology in action at UPM Caledonian Paper as part of the #Flue2Chem project, led by Unilever and SCI® Where Science Meets Business. This project is a UK first—capturing CO₂ from industrial emissions and beginning the journey to transform it into essential chemicals for home and personal care products. It’s a powerful demonstration of how we can close the carbon loop, reducing reliance on fossil fuels while creating a more sustainable supply chain for consumer goods. 🌱 Why it matters: ✅ Capturing CO₂ from industrial sites ✅ Converting emissions into valuable chemicals ✅ Driving the transition to a circular carbon economy ✅ Demonstrates the power of collaboration in driving sustainable innovation. The momentum for carbon capture and utilisation (CCU) is growing, and we’re proud to be at the forefront of making carbon a resource rather than a waste. Thank you to Scottish Enterprise for the ongoing support and bringing together organisations and businesses to join us for a day of demonstration, discussion and education and of course to UPM for being excellent hosts as always. 🔗 Read more about this exciting development here: https://lnkd.in/ek4-iSun #CarbonCapture #Sustainability #Flue2Chem #NetZero #Innovation #CCU #Decarbonisation #Defossilisation #Groundbreaking

What an honour for CCU International to be invited by Prime Minister Keir Starmer to No.10 Downing Street for Burns Night! It was an incredible evening celebrating the life and legacy of Scotland’s national poet, Robert Burns, while also reflecting on the cultural richness and heritage that bind us together. From the haggis to the poetry and the camaraderie in the room, it was a true celebration of Scottish traditions. We are grateful for the opportunity to share this special night alongside other remarkable leaders, and for the chance to discuss the importance of #sustainability, #innovation, and #collaboration in shaping our shared future. A heartfelt thank you to all who made the evening so memorable.
