💡 Did you know? Menopause impacts women for the rest of their lives—not just while they are going through it. 📊 Cera has built one of the world’s largest datasets on how people are ageing. To mark World Menopause Day, we’re sharing some eye-opening data on how menopause causes women to age differently from men. Certain health conditions disproportionately affect women after menopause. Just two of these are osteoarthritis and osteoporosis, which are both linked to an increased risk of falling. Our data shows: ▶️ Over 72% of our patients with osteoarthritis are women. ▶️ More than 80% of our patients living with osteoporosis are women. ▶️ Falls disproportionately affect women: almost two-thirds of over-65s who experience a fall are women. ▶️ People with osteoporosis or osteoarthritis are more likely to experience long-term complications or even death after a fall. At Cera, we’re harnessing preventative tech and AI to improve how women age. Our Falls Prevention AI uses advanced algorithms to predict 83% of falls before they happen, reducing falls by at least 25%. We’re also using technology to advance healthcare research for over-65s. Reducing the health inequalities women face during menopause and beyond is an important part of this. Stay tuned over the next week as we share more about how we’re supporting both our patients and workforce through Menopause and ageing. 🌸 #WorldMenopauseDay #AI #FallsPrevention #MenopauseAwareness

Let’s take a look back at our recommendations for Labour during its #First100Days in Government. Our fourth recommendation to the new Government was to advance healthcare research among over-65s. Over-65s account for almost two-thirds of illness in the UK, but currently represent just one-third of participants in most clinical trials. As our population ages, this means drugs and treatment options may be less and less suited to the people who most need them. To address this inequity, Cera is launching a sector-first,technology-powered programme to give tens of thousands of over-65s in our care the chance to take part in clinical trials: 💊 Giving them access to potentially life-changing new treatment options 🔬 Advancing healthcare research for our ageing population Find out how this aligns with the #NewUKGovernment’s plans for healthcare research below 👇 #First100Days #NewUKGovernment  #AI #HealthcareResearch #NHS

Excited to be launching a sector-first programme to advance health research for older people! A few months ago, I was shocked to learn that while over-65s account for two-thirds of illness in the UK, less than a third of them are enrolled in clinical trials. This is a major inequality gap between old and young, that will only get worse as our population ages. At Cera, we wanted to help tackle this challenge in health research: ▶️ We're excited to share that soon, patients receiving care from Cera will have the option to opt in, to be put forward for clinical trials that could be life-changing for them, with the support of family members.    ▶️ At the heart of this programme is our use of technology. We’re fortunate to now have Europe’s largest, most in-depth home healthcare dataset, rich with insights about how our population is ageing. Working in partnership with leading life sciences organisations, we're going to draw on this dataset to safely and appropriately include over-65s who would like to benefit from access to world-leading clinical trials.   Over time, our programme aims to significantly advance healthcare solutions for our ageing population.   Thank you to The Times for covering this!   #ClinicalTrials #LifeSciences #NHS #AI #HealthTech #DigitalHealth
