In its latest report, the British Chambers of Commerce has warned that businesses face increased cybersecurity risks without stronger engagement with government. Among its recommendations for ministers include: 💻 Carry out a cybersecurity awareness programme for businesses, particularly smaller firms. 💻 Update the National Cyber Strategy. 💻 Reform cybersecurity insurance to provide firms with better protection. 💻 Address the shortage of UK cybersecurity professionals and support more training in all workplaces. 💻 Engage directly with businesses to strengthen confidence in the UK’s digital infrastructure. Our Chambers Wales South East, South West and Mid 'Unlocking Business Potential with AI' event took place this morning, hosted by School of Management, Swansea University at the Swansea Bay Campus. Joined by the business community, industry experts, and academics, we explored how businesses can leverage AI to drive efficiency, innovation, and growth. ✨ Dr Frederic Boy (PhD), Associate Professor in AI and Computational Social Science at Swansea University, shared the ongoing projects Swansea University is pursuing in the AI space such as The Zienkiewicz Institute for Modelling, Data, and AI at Swansea University which aims to bring together multidisciplinary research to provide impactful solutions to real-world challenges. ✨ Rob B. from Libra Europe , delved into AI for larger organizations – highlighting the challenges and solutions for deploying AI at scale and gave insights on navigating complexities while delivering measurable value within a business. ✨ Andries Pretorius from One Step North, took us on a journey into the future – exploring the intersection of AI and VR, showcasing the cutting-edge applications for immersive learning and business innovation. Andries stressed the importance of curiosity over judgment when it comes to the world of AI and its integration. 👀 The first Chambers Wales Men's Health Network event of 2025 took place this morning, bringing over 60 individuals from our business community together to promote awareness, wellness and support. The event was kindly hosted by our member Cardiff Rugby at the iconic Arms Park. We were thrilled to have an incredible lineup of speakers who shared their experiences and invaluable insights on men's health, wellness, and the importance of open conversations. Thank you to Scott Baldwin - Kontroltek Ltd, Rob Lester - Lads and Dads Men's Mental Wellbeing CIC , David Powell - UPBEAT MUSIC AND ARTS SERVICE LTD, and of course our brilliant host Dai Rees for leading the discussion and facilitating such an important event.
