Today is World Mental Health Day. We support our people with a number of wellbeing and healthcare initiatives available to them every day of the year. We know how important conversations are for wellbeing, so today, we kept it simple and ordered some cakes to encourage our amazing people to take five and have a conversation that matters. Off the back of launching our Trade Skills Index this morning, a privilege to co-host a discussion with SME4Labour on how government and business can partner to close the skills gap facing our country. A speech from Jambu Palaniappan kicked off a lively session in a packed room at The Labour Party Conference, with leading figures from governments past and present aligning around our findings and pragmatic steps to help industry and policymakers solve the issue. As the Skills Minister Jacqui Smith put it, 'The fact this session is being held is absolutely crucial', with the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change adding that skills are 'the political project of our time'.
