10th to 16th February 2025 is National Apprenticeship Week. A week-long celebration that brings together businesses and apprentices across the country to shine a light on the positive impact that apprenticeships make to individuals, businesses and the wider economy. As usual Cheetham Hill Construction Limited will be supporting this by attending Hopwood Hall College's Apprenticeship Open Evening at their Middleton campus on Wednesday 12th February. Hopwood Hall College is our training provider for the groundwork apprenticeship and CHC people will be on hand to talk about opportunities in the construction and civil engineering industry and answer any questions from students. #NAW2025

The University of Salford's School of Science, Engineering and Environment is holding an Apprenticeship Matchmaker event on Wednesday 29 January. Christmas giving For over fifty years, Cheetham Hill Construction Limited has enjoyed presenting its loyal and valued customers with a Christmas gift by way of a thank you for their business during the year. In recent years, however, we’ve chosen to embrace a new tradition. Instead of gifts, we’ve made a charitable donation to Cancer Research UK (CRUK), as many of us – like so many others – have experienced the impact of cancer, either directly or indirectly. Sadly, this year has been no exception, with both colleagues and customers affected. In light of this, we are continuing our commitment to this cause through a donation of £2700 to Cancer Research UK (CRUK). From all of us at Cheetham Hill Construction Limited , we’d like to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2025.

Spreading Christmas Joy with the Salvation Army Gift Appeal 2024 Traditionally, Christmas is a time for giving, and for the past few years, Cheetham Hill Construction Limited has supported charities close to our CHC sites during the festive season. This year, we once again linked up with the The Salvation Army Christmas Gift Appeal to bring smiles to children and young people in Barrow-in-Furness and Gainsborough. Throughout December, our amazing employees, and even some of their children donated toys, gifts, selection boxes and cash (which we used to buy gifts) for children of all ages. Our fantastic ‘stand in Santa’s’ Neil and Mick delivered these to the local Salvation Army branches in Barrow and Gainsborough, ready to be distributed to children throughout the areas. We’ve spoken with both branches, who shared how meaningful these gifts are. For some children, these donations may be the only gifts they receive this Christmas. Your kindness and generosity really do make a difference. Thanks go to MMA CONSTRUCTION PLANT LIMITED, Site Contract Personnel Limited, KEN TAYLOR SUPPLIES LTD, Finning, Brantwood Recruitment Ltd and Quarryplant maintenance dept Ltd for backing this important cause, and to every CHC team member who contributed so generously. Together, we’ve helped create a brighter Christmas for many young people.

Last week saw the final North West Contractors Training Group meeting of 2024. Many of those who attended also donated a wonderful set of gifts to St Helens Young Carers, an independent registered Charity that supports unpaid carers looking after someone who lives in the St Helens area and have been doing so for over 20 years. We are delighted to announce that Cheetham Hill Construction Limited has been selected by United Utilities to provide civil engineering construction services for the AMP8 Minor Works framework. Get moving for Movember This weekend 30/11 - 01/12, CHC’s Engineering Manager Louis, will attempt to complete the following challenge as part of an amazing team in support of Movember: The 60 for 60, Inside the M60: This is a powerful initiative to raise awareness and funds for mental health and suicide prevention. This effort involves running and walking approx. 60km inside the M60 in Manchester whilst drawing the number 60, symbolizing the tragic statistic that 60 men die by suicide every hour globally. That is one man every minute! Using Strava, the team will create a massive "60" on the streets of Greater Manchester, drawing attention to the urgent need for action and support in mental health.
