#Gratitude is a powerful tool for personal development, not just a buzzword or a trend. Cultivating gratitude is essential for overall mental well-being. According to an article by Calm People, developing the attitude of gratitude can have a profound impact on our lives. The key to success is softening our approach to start with, remembering it takes practice, and practice make progress – not perfection. Practicing gratitude allows us to shift our focus from what's lacking to what we have, promoting a positive mindset and reducing stress. Expressing gratitude can boost our immune system, lower blood pressure, and promote better sleep. Expressing appreciation to those around us strengthens trust, empathy, and love. Nurture your relationships by taking the time to thank your friends, family, and colleagues for their support and care. Start your day by listing three things you are grateful for, whether it's the support of loved ones, the beauty of nature, or simple moments of joy. Gratitude is an essential part of our health journey, whatever stage you’re at. As food prices go up, many of us are looking for ways we can save money on our weekly shop. Here are a couple of swaps you can try to help you get a little more out of your budget: 1️⃣ Keep your groceries visible We're all guilty of discovering limp, long-forgotten vegetables at the bottom of the fridge drawer. It's frustrating (and expensive) continually having to repurchase items that have gone bad. One way to minimise your food waste is to keep your groceries visible. Instead of stuffing fresh food like fruit and vegetables in a drawer, store them in prominent places like the top shelves or the fridge door. If you can easily see them, you are much more likely to remember to cook with them. Store items with a longer a shelf life like drinks or condiments in your fridge drawers instead. 2️⃣ Use more frozen or canned food Substitute frozen and canned fruit or veg for fresh ingredients in recipes. They're often cheaper than fresh produce while still being just as nutritious and tasty because the produce is usually frozen or canned at its best. If you're worried about extra sodium, you can give your canned food a quick rinse to remove any salty water or juice before cooking with it. 3️⃣ Shop with the seasons In-season fruit and vegetables are cheaper than imported produce, so it's wise to pay attention to what's in season and incorporate these ingredients into your meal planning. In-season produce tastes better, too, and shopping seasonally means you're more likely to be supporting local producers. #SavvySavings #MoneyTips #CostOfLiving #MentalHealthMonday

𝐇𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐖𝐞 𝐋𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐒𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐞 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠? 🤔 Last week, in the #DigiCafé with the EAEF (Employee Assistance European Forum) community, I received a smart insight confirmation that stuck with me all weekend. It made me question: in our discussions about workplace wellbeing, are we forgetting the core of what we set out to achieve? • 𝐄𝐀𝐏𝐬 were originally created to tackle specific workplace issues, like alcohol misuse.🍻 • The 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐨𝐜𝐜𝐮𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 is to reduce workplace-related illnesses and injuries.🏥 • The 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐬 is to navigate people towards healthier lifestyles.📱🌱 Similarly, the concept of 𝐑𝐞𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (#𝐑𝐎𝐈) has always been about ensuring that every euro (€) spent delivers value—especially in wellbeing initiatives. 💰 Today, however, we’re overwhelmed by superficial wellbeing trends and loud demands, but there’s a lack of accountability for the outcomes of these interventions. 𝐴𝑟𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑦 𝑡𝑟𝑢𝑙𝑦 𝑖𝑚𝑝𝑟𝑜𝑣𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑒𝑚𝑝𝑙𝑜𝑦𝑒𝑒 ℎ𝑒𝑎𝑙𝑡ℎ? 𝐴𝑟𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑦 𝑏𝑒𝑛𝑒𝑓𝑖𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑜𝑟𝑔𝑎𝑛𝑖𝑧𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑓𝑖𝑛𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑖𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑦? It feels like we've drifted from the basics—doing our core job, measuring its true impact, and continuously learning. This is a call to return to the fundamentals. Focus on 𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭. 🌟 📽️ The link to the video is in the comments.  Liliana Dias (she/her) Harry Key  #eaefdigicafe #digicafe #eaef #Wellbeing #OccupationalHealth #DigitalHealth #HealthOutcomes #HealthROI #WellcastROI

Resilience is our ability to respond to challenging situations and is an important factor in our wellbeing. A person with high resilience can reduce their chances of developing anxiety or depression, as well as have a stronger ability to handle stressful situations. There can be a lot of situations in the workplace that can cause us stress, such as: • difficult conversations • organisational change • interpersonal issues and clashes with co-workers • complicated relationships with managers • tough workloads Although these things can be difficult, building our resilience can help us face these challenges and move through them. Here are some tips for how you can get started: 1️⃣ Don’t be afraid of failure or challenges When we embrace challenges and setbacks as a time for personal growth, we build our resilience. 2️⃣ Compartmentalise Improving mental resilience can be achieved by having set times for particular tasks. By achieving small goals frequently, this leads to repeated feelings of success which builds your mental resilience. 3️⃣ Look after yourself Your physical and mental health are strongly interlinked, as such both must be managed to build your resilience. Try eating a healthy diet, managing stressful situations, exercising, getting a good night’s sleep, and get a regular health check. 4️⃣ Take a break Taking a break, even when you have a big workload, is important for your health and productivity. A simple rule to implement that can help with this is the 50/10 rule where for every 50 minutes of work, you take a 10-minute break. 5️⃣ Ask for help Having a strong network of people is a sign of a resilient person. Make sure to ask for help from your network during challenging times and remember to return the favour. 6️⃣ Maintain your work-life balance Energy levels get drained quickly in stressful situations, and as a result your ability to handle challenging situations is greatly diminished. Remember to factor in time to recuperate and spend time with loved ones. 7️⃣ Reflect Understanding your triggers to stressful situations and how you react is an important component to how you manage your resilience. Make sure you take time to reflect on coping strategies and how to bounce back from stressful situations. #Resilience #WorkCulture #MentalHealthMonday

Managing workplace stress is incredibly important to a harmonious and thriving work environment. Here are some tips managers can use to to help manage stress among your team: 1️⃣ Nurture positive communication Open communication is vital for this. Research shows getting praise or recognition vastly increases morale and productivity by 10% – 20%. 3️⃣ Set clear goals for your team Take the time to schedule regular catch-ups with your employees so you can set realistic and attainable goals together. 4️⃣ Encourage mindfulness at work There is scientific proof that mindfulness can improve mental health by boosting mood, reducing stress and anxiety, increasing focus and memory, and many other things. 5️⃣ Improve yourself A manager’s role is to support their team, including their mental health. On World Suicide Prevention day it is worth remembering that by talking more openly about suicide, we can give people the chance to express how they feel and get the support they need. It could even save a life. If you are experiencing suicidal thoughts find a trusted person that you can talk to. If that feels too difficult, consider talking to a counsellor through your workplace Employee Assistance Programme (EAP). https://lnkd.in/eaTkbasW
