  • Here is a post from Steve earlier, which you may find interesting about the Trinity House agreement. #mod #militaryspending

This Trinity House agreement is great for foreign investment in UK defence infrastructure but does it mask the bigger issue, in that the UK doesn't invest enough in UK Defence itself? Having German Surveillance Aircraft stationed at RAF Lossiemouth smacks of desperation, where the UK doesn't have enough of our own assets to patrol the North Atlantic, let alone have the strength in depth to promote worldwide influence. This was bought up last night by Robert Peston on his Political show, when he spoke with Defence Secretary - John Healey. Who basically dodged the question, regarding the small numbers of Aircraft that the UK has, by arguing that it is a joint NATO role to police the North Atlantic. Well, I don't ever remember German or any other nations aircraft (other than possibly the USA) stationed at Lossiemouth during the Cold War, when we had more Air assets and personnel available. It's time the UK defence secretary and the government woke up and realised that we need more of our own investment in UK defence, and increase spending to an acceptable level to prepare for conflict. We need to prepare now, not when we have paid back the Covid 19 pandemic black hole. Here is the article by Politico.eu: https://lnkd.in/ezYycQjc

  • Is there a way of improving the recruitment process for all parties?

View profile for David Cox, graphic

Engineering recruitment specialist working with innovative and dynamic technology partners in the defence and aerospace sectors | MD | Cirrus Selection

The recruitment process is a fickle thing. I've worked with clients who are very streamlined but have struggled to secure the best talent and others who seem a bit haphazard but have been more agile and have moved quickly to onboard the star candidate. As a partner to many companies, I have always tried to advise and consult if things aren't going well and provide input to help in areas they might not have considered. There's no one-size-fits-all solution, and the advice may change from one business to another depending on what they are looking to achieve, but by working closely with each other from the get-go, I have found that we can deliver better results. What are the biggest challenges that you have come across in the recruitment process?
