We are delighted to have been working with the London Borough of Tower Hamlets as members of the CLOCS community since 2022 and to have seen the passion and drive to make their roads safer for those who live and work in their community. Michele Young, Christopher Ali-Hempstead, Hannah Horton and the rest of the team are working tirelessly to raise standards and drive collaboration across clients, contractors and projects to mitigate the risks from construction traffic. They kindly prepared a case study for the CLOCS website which can be found here https://lnkd.in/eCTzB56e. We now have 10 of the London Boroughs implementing CLOCS. Exchanging places is an industry initiative to help vulnerable road users, particularly cyclists, see the road from the perspective of a lorry driver. It’s a valuable experience to understand just what can and cannot be seen when you’re sitting in the cab of a lorry and how many mirrors and cameras a driver is checking continually during the whole of each journey. Organising ‘exchanging places‘ events is a powerful way for CLOCS Members to demonstrate their commitment to keeping communities around developments safe. We’ve developed some guidance to help you organise your event: https://lnkd.in/ec5eRdQV Check out the video below from CLOCS Member Cemex: https://lnkd.in/eTTb7FF5

We are delighted to invite you to join us for the next CLOCS Safety Forum on 20th March 2025 about tyres as a causal factor in incidents. TyreSafe Admin will set out how it is making its Case for Action with road safety practitioners to understand the scale of the problem around illegal and unroadworthy tyres on UK roads and will present its latest research and data around the perilous state of tyres on British roads and how it is now developing effective partnerships to tackle this growing road safety issue. Importantly, the session will cover what you can do to make sure that the journeys associated with your activities are as safe as possible. Open to CLOCS Members only, so if you're a CLOCS member and haven't yet accepted but would like to attend, please check your emails or contact Andy Brooke to receive an invitation.

CLOCS reposted this
Formed by Transport for London in 2012, CLOCS has become the national standard for construction logistics safety across the UK, reducing the risk of incidents and tackling air quality and congestion. As a CLOCS Champion and considerate contractor, we are committed to operating at a higher standard, beyond legal requirements, to protect vulnerable road users as we do our site staff, clients, and stakeholders from the risks associated with our projects. Kudos to our Head of HSEQ Jordan Ostrowski CMIOSH for leading this initiative. #Constructingwithintegrity #construction #placemaking #sportsconstruction #
