About us
The demand for an easier and more cost-effective way to carbon footprint an organisation was identified by Will Richardson and Emma Littlewood at Green Element, a successful Environmental Management Consultancy set up by Will in 2004. Over the years they noticed that many organisations would love to be greener but were held back by the time and financial barriers. In 2017, they used over 20 years of sustainability experience to develop Compare Your Footprint, smart software that automates carbon emissions reporting to offer a time and cost-efficient solution that increases the quality and accuracy of your results. Since the launch of Compare Your Footprint, the team has been able to significantly reduce the cost of carbon emissions assessment and help organisations of all sizes and industries to get started on their environmental journey.

Download the 2024 Carbon Conversion Factors now⬇️ Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs has released the new 2024 carbon conversion factors. These updated factors help you calculate carbon emissions for various activities and processes. At Compare Your Footprint, we use these average carbon conversion factors for UK-based organisations and some international operations, following the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol average data method. How ShelterBox avoided using over 173,000 pieces of plastic☑️ This Plastic-Free July, we're celebrating our client ShelterBox, a UK humanitarian organisation providing emergency shelter and essential supplies worldwide. Since 2000, ShelterBox has helped over 2 million people. Recognising the environmental impact of their work, they mapped the types and uses of plastics in their aid items. Partnering with suppliers, they reviewed 13 types of packaging, identifying four as non-essential and three as reusable♻️ By cutting six pieces of packaging from each shelter kit, ShelterBox avoided using 173,396 pieces of plastic in 2021.
