The Confederation of European Maritime Technology Societies (CEMT) is an independent confederation of professional institutions (those involved in education and professional development) and learned societies (those facilitating the exchange of information) in the field of maritime technology. Through its member Societies, CEMT is able to call upon the knowledge, skills and experience of over 35,000 professional naval architects, marine engineers and others in the field of maritime technology. It is therefore uniquely placed to contribute to the success of the European maritime industry. CEMT has Non Government Organisation (NGO) status with the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and the Central Commission for the Navigation of the Rhine (CCNR)

  • PostGradMarTec 2024 - Final Call for Abstracts The 2024 International Conference on Postgraduate Research in Maritime Technology (PostGradMarTec 2024) will again provide a unique opportunity for younger postgraduates world-wide to present and discuss their work, both complete and in progress, and to meet with other young maritime professionals from universities and industry world-wide in an international conference environment. PostGradMarTec 2024 will be held online on 27-28 Nov 2024, and  organised on behalf of the Confederation of European Maritime Technology Societies by the Royal Institution of Naval Architects. Registration will again be free for postgraduate and undergraduate students.   • Technical Requirements for Inland Navigation vessels At its recent meeting, the European Committee for drawing up Standards in the field of Inland Navigation (CESNI), adopted the new editions of the ES-TRIN, the European Standard laying down Technical Requirements for Inland Navigation vessels, and the ES-RIS, the European Standard for River Information Services. In addition, a number of interim guidelines were approved relating to pilot projects for the storage of gaseous hydrogen.
