Join BMT at INEC/iSCSS 2024 for their workshop, "Towards modularity and adaptability: Do uncrewed ships hold the key to enhanced versatility?"🚢 Tickets👉bit.ly/INEC2024 As maritime operations evolve, so do the demands for persistent, long-duration surveillance and autonomous vessel solutions. In an era where trained crew availability is declining and the need for a transparent ocean arena is increasing, uncrewed vessels are emerging as a potential tool across military, commercial, and scientific sectors. But can a single vessel design meet the diverse requirements of these varied missions? Join BMT for the Medium and Large Uncrewed Vessel Workshop, where we will explore the challenges and opportunities of uncrewed vessels in current and future operational scenarios. Through interactive discussions, we will outline high-level mission requirements and assess whether a versatile, modular solution is possible or if tailored designs are necessary. This workshop offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of autonomous maritime operations, with all insights shared among attendees and key government stakeholders. Attendees will receive a post conference summary of workshop deliberations. Be part of the conversation shaping tomorrow’s uncrewed vessel strategies! Attendees can select the session when purchasing a ticket, or after purchasing by returning to their booking and clicking on "My Sessions".💻 Facilitated by: Jake Rigby, Will Alexander, Andy Kimber and Eshan Rajabally. #AutonomousShips #INEC24 #NavalEngineering #ShipControlSystems #IMarEST

Consultant at Egon Zehnder | Energy & Blue Economy | Empowering Leaders, Driving Results Safely & Sustainably
It was a privilege to represent the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science & Technology (IMarEST) along with a distinguished panel (Craig Eason, Capt. Zheng Yi, Sonia Malaluan, Alishba Zaman, Anastasia Kouvertari, Arvind Natrajan) at the International Maritime Organization-UNEP-Norway Innovation Forum 2024. We discussed "Maritime Decarbonisation: A Just Transition for Seafarers". Professional bodies like the IMarEST, in collaboration with organisations, academia, policymakers, and technology providers, play an important role in supporting an inclusive, cross-sectoral, and unified approach to the transition to lower carbon fuels and energy-efficient technologies. The leadership qualities we instill in ourselves and those around us also play an important role for supporting decarbonisation - Let's embrace change, promote diversity, collaborate, and innovate. In your view, are seafarers and port workers ready for the alternative fuel transition? cc. Chris Goldsworthy, Peter Sheppard, Caroline Allison
