22 students from across the Trust have composed a 2-hour concert which was performed at the Royal Northern College of Music, inspired by a Science workshop at the Science and Industry Museum. This project offered students an incredible chance to learn from experts and create original music, some for the first time. Guided by Dr. Zakiya Leeming, they crafted solo and group pieces, culminating in a stunning performance that showcased their talent and hard work. Co-op is a proud member of The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood business taskforce. Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales’ Taskforce has today announced the launch of the Case for Change report. As part of our contribution to this work, we have created a specific early childhood fund in Co-op’s unique apprenticeship levy share scheme, committing to raise £5 million over the next 5 years. Working with other members of the taskforce, we are delighted to have already achieved a starting pledge of £1m which will help fund over 600 apprenticeships. Also through our Co-op Local Community Fund we are extending our reach to community groups working with early years children, such as baby banks, inviting them to apply for funding while additionally supporting the Baby Bank Alliance by promoting its important work to our 5.4 million member-owners.
