In the last few years we've seen an increased number of linguistically diverse workplaces where some employees have limited proficiency in English. As a result, employers can face challenges in supporting workplace health. So how language barriers between employees and OH Professionals can be removed ❓💬 Some people might think that it would be sufficient to involve employee's family member or a friend, however the Society of Occupational Medicine recommends using a professional interpreter. Here are the reasons why 👇 A family member or a friend: ❌ potential safeguarding issues ❌ no guarantee that they will be accurate, independent, and objective ❌ they may not be able to precisely translate health-related information The interpreter can ensure: ✅ accuracy ✅ impartiality ✅ confidentiality That's why for our Management Referral Service we use an accredited language service provider which has an extensive network of fully trained and qualified language specialists. This way we can better support employees whose first language is not English by enabling them to fully engage in the occupational health process. #occupationalhealth #translating #managementreferral

Last Sunday our colleagues Kristyna Rose and Fran Ward took part in the Newmarket Bubble Rush to help raise money for East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH) - our Charity of the Year. Looking at the photos we can definitely tell that they had lots of fun! 😊 The event was a huge success with 1300 people joining the bubble fun and raising an incredible £38,000 for the charity 💜
