Today marks a new chapter in the optimisation and delivery of health and care research in England, with the launch of the NIHR (National Institute for Health and Care Research)'s new Research Delivery Network (that’s us!) 👋🏼 We were set up to respond to the changing requirements of health and care research. We’ve taken over from the NIHR Clinical Research Network, and our ambition is to help make the UK a more attractive place to conduct high quality research. As a unified network, we'll work together to make sure our systems are aligned, and that our talent and resources are deployed nationally, for maximum effect. Find out more about who we are, what we do, and how we’ll be working to deliver key GOV.UK research priorities: https://lnkd.in/ec88GXgf

What does Trust mean to you? We've been hearing a lot about mistrust in healthcare and health research, but what are the real consequences when we lose #trust in the very systems designed to care for us? It’s not just affecting marginalised or oppressed communities—mistrust is spreading across all walks of life, creating barriers to care and research that impact everyone. And we understand why.. Trust is a simple word but a powerful concept. When it comes to #healthcare and #clinicalresearch, mistrust is especially damaging. It's more than a personal feeling; it’s a social determinant of health, contributing to health inequality and poorer outcomes. Coming Soon: A short film, co-produced by NIHR CRN North West London and Spirited, exploring Trust in Health Research and the journey to rebuild it. Featuring over 25 community & health expert contributors and #changemaking projects from North London, guided by the talented Richard King & Jerome Monnot, this film offers a glimpse into how we can rebuild trust in clinical research. Stay tuned—don’t miss it! #CommunityEngagement #TrustBuilding #HealthResearch #PublicHealth #healthinequality #creativeprocess #filmmaking

Coming soon! An important short film exploring mistrust in health research. #CommunityEngagement #HealthResearch

Skilled film-making craftsmen, Richard King and Jerome Monnot from Spirited direct and film a brilliant colleague, Dr Steven Okoli at the incredible ‘There Is Light Somewhere’ #TavaresStrachan exhibition at the Hayward Gallery, Southbank Centre - a privilege to be there and an inspirational addition to our health research short film. Big thanks to the Southbank Centre—a unique opportunity to film at an awe-inspiring space for a vital purpose... Art here serves as the voice of crucial untold stories—stories that shaped our history and will alter our understanding of it. They give us insight into the why and the profound consequences these events had on our society. Without understanding this history, without seeing and feeling the perspectives of those who were harmed and marginalized, how can we progress? How can we build the trust that is so desperately needed. Coming soon! A brilliant public engagement short film co-produced with NIHR CRN North West London and Spirited featuring our community and health experts, who speak honestly and openly about the mistrust in health research. Deep mistrust is based on truth and past abuses that cannot be dismissed. A challenge we need to tackle together, to rebuild trust that is essential for better health for all of us. Featuring work leading the way to direct change with our underserved communities. Health research is fundamental to modern healthcare, preventing and treating disease, and saving lives. We have some amazing (well-known!) contributors you won’t want to miss! Stay tuned—we’ll share more in the coming months before the release in early November! #Mistrust #PublicEngagement #NIHR #changemakers #healingtogether #OnLocation #Filmmaking #HenriettaLaks #HealthResearch #BehindTheScenes #Teamwork #CreativeProcess
