This prestigious award was presented during the CLS Industry Partnership Appreciation Event, marking the institute’s 70th anniversary. The award acknowledges Croda’s ongoing support and collaboration in fostering innovation and excellence among aspiring scientists. In 2022, we announced our aspiration to become Net Nature Positive, aligning with the global ambition defined by the Nature Positive Initiative. Over the past 12 months, working alongside like-minded peers, supported by WBCSD (World Business Council for Sustainable Development) and Quantis, has been invaluable for advancing our nature journey and accelerating collective progress in nature target setting. Target setting is a critical lever for corporate transformation and #TransitionPlanning. The Science Based Targets Network (SBTN) provides a comprehensive framework for companies to understand their relationship with nature. With Quantis' support, WBCSD brought together 12 companies in a #PreparerGroup to enhance understanding of SBTN methods, share best practices, and drive the development of nature targets. At Croda, we stand in solidarity with those affected by breast cancer and are committed to raising awareness about early detection, prevention, and support. Breast cancer impacts millions of lives every year, and by coming together, we can make a difference in the fight against this disease. This time four years ago looked very different for our Communications Lead, Hattie Holt. “In October 2020 at the age of 29, I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer during the global COVID-19 pandemic,” Hattie said. “I underwent chemotherapy, a lumpectomy and radiotherapy and finished treatment the following August. Early detection is vital, so please get to know your normal.” October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and, in support of Hattie and other employees who have faced a breast cancer diagnosis, we are encouraging everyone to check regularly for new or unusual changes. For Hattie, our Purpose of using smart science to improve lives™ is even more pertinent. Hattie added: “I am super proud to work for a company that uses its smart science to contribute to the research of this disease. “Many of Avanti Research’s products are used in studies as potential components of drug delivery systems to target and treat cancerous tumours, including breast cancer, which is vital for development of next generation therapeutics and improving outcomes.” #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth

This week Dr. Amy Goddard, Research and Technology Manager, was invited to give a talk at the Royal Society of Chemistry, at their first Annual Summit focused on Sustainable Polymers in Liquid Formulations. Dr Goddard tells us: "This was a brilliant opportunity to showcase our developments in the area of sustainable polymers, and highlight successes of our joint collaboration with the University of Nottingham and the University of York.”

Croda Pharma has been awarded a grant through the New Jersey Innovation and Research Fellowship Program (IRFP). This two-year grant will support a Ph.D. Fellow conducting key research in Drug Delivery, driving innovation for the Life Sciences industry.
