📢 CPD Announcement 📢 The Welding Institute's July Technical Group Meeting will be titled "The Carbon Borders Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and Steel". Providing insight into the "carbon trading" system and the effect it will have on the price of important steel in the UK and how we export it, this will be of particular relevance to those working in pre- and post-fabrication of steel. Speakers are still being announced, but already include Tony Corrie of Barrett Steel Limited. 🚨 Scheme Update Announcement 🚨 As part of our commitment to ensuring our schemes meet the requirements of industry, they undergo a periodic review by our Management Committees which consist of volunteers from within industry. As a result of one of these reviews the CSWIP Welding Inspection scheme was adjusted and the new scheme document went live on 01 June 2024. TWI Certification Ltd (TWI CL) is committed to ensuring the reliability, credibility, and integrity of our certifications - be they for people, products, or processes - and none more so than for our CSWIP and BGAS-CSWIP certificates. Over the past several years, our Management Committees have taken a zero-tolerance policy to those found falsely claiming to hold a CSWIP or BGAS-CSWIP certificate. Despite the measures taken, individuals still falsify certificates, so further action has been taken by TWI CL on the request of its Committees. A list of banned candidates has been published on our CSWIP website - detailing the individual name, the certificate type, and certificate number used in their fake certificate. More information about this below.
