Membership of Cumbria CVS passed the 400 mark recently, with #Arnside Educational Institute setting us on our way towards 500 members. Becoming a member is free of charge and open to all third sector organisations operating in Cumbria, including community groups, registered charities, Faith groups and social enterprises. 'Going #Green Together Cumbria' Survey - CAfS & Cumbria CVS need your help to inform a future support project for VCSE organisations. The proposed project will help VCSE organisations to lower their energy bills, carbon emissions and address #ClimateChange. It is proposed in response to the climate crisis as well as requirements from funders to include environmental policies and carbon reduction plans within funding bids or tenders. We've been accredited as a Living Wage Employer!! The real Living Wage is the only rate calculated according to the costs of living. It provides a voluntary benchmark for employers that wish to ensure their staff earn a wage they can live on, not just the government minimum. Chief Executive, David Allen said: “As an organisation that recognises our employees as the bedrock of our success – and one which seeks to challenge the ills arising from poverty – this commitment was an easy decision to take. Step Forward into Volunteering and Employment has been supporting people for over two years and has made some great connections, including third-sector organisations, employers and healthcare providers.
