About us
Cycle Sisters is an award-winning charity which inspires and enables Muslim women to cycle. Our journey started in 2016 when our founder, Sarah Javaid, set up our first Muslim women’s community cycle group in Waltham Forest. Our first group started with just Sarah, her friend and sisters in law. Since then, we've grown to have multiple groups and support hundreds of women to cycle! We are passionate about ensuring that Muslim women have access to cycling without having to compromise cultural or religious values.

Honoured to have been selected, blessed to be part of Cycle Sisters. My role as CEO for TOWER HAMLETS GP CARE GROUP CIC has provided me with such a wealth of experience, increasing representation amoungst senior leaders is so important. "The best of you are those who benefit mankind" - a saying of Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him). Last night Emerald Network was honoured to collaborate with The Aziz Foundation to reveal our next generation 100 Inspiring Muslims list at SOAS University of London. A truly wonderful evening celebrating and showcasing an array of talent within British Muslim communities, spanning a diverse range of sectors, professions and heritage. The evening opened with recitation by Is'Haaq Jasat drawing reference to the diversity within humanity. A special address by Dr Ida Hadjivayanis, SOAS, followed by Rahima Aziz BEM highlighting the vision of The Aziz Foundation, supporting individuals to fulfil their potential and contribute to the fabric of British society through the power of education. A special award for bravery was presented to Abdullah Tanoli for his intervention in saving a young girl's life in a recent stabbing incident at Leicester Square. All too often media may not highlight the invaluable and positive contributions of Muslims in Britain, last night was inspirational - an honour for Rooful Ali FRSA to reveal 100 such individuals - an invitation to view https://bit.ly/100ENXTAF and share. Congratulations to all featured, a thank you to those who nominated.
