💜 We need your support now more than ever. As the local specialist service in Gwent, we are struggling to survive and thrive in the current climate and elements of our work are at risk. Despite the UK Governments pledge to halve violence against women and girls, the budget for victim services has been cut by 4.2% and our need for funding continues. Along with an increase in national insurance contributions, this paints a dire picture for the future of our sector. By supporting our new challenge, A Mile a Day in May, you are helping us to ensure we can still be there for all who need us and our services. 🌟 Marking Neurodiversity Celebration Week 🌟 After a conversation with Neurodivergence Wales, we are developing neuroinclusive virtual tours of our Hwbs across Gwent to promote accessibility and inclusion. Launching Spring 2025 – These virtual tours are designed to reduce the distress and uncertainty neurodivergent individuals may feel when visiting a new environment. By providing clear, informative guidance on what to expect, we’re breaking down barriers to support and ensuring our spaces are welcoming for all. #YouSaidWeDid #StakeholdertakeUpdate #NeurodiversityCelebrationWeek

🤝 Better Networking, Awareness & Community Engagement We attended 17 community events across Gwent in the last six months, engaging with local people, businesses, and specialist services. This has led to: Stronger collaborations with specialist organisations. Better understanding of services across sectors. Increased awareness through leaflets, posters & stickers. Contacting people who requested to find out more about our services. #YouSaidWeDid #StakeholdertakeUpdate

A huge thank you to The Riverfront for giving us a platform to celebrate the powerful voices of the women we support! 💜 We came together to honour women’s strength, resilience, and hope through creative spaces, storytelling, and connection. During the event, we shared stories of courage and perseverance in our workshop and delivered a moving performance of ‘A Beacon in the Storm’—a song of unity and hope. We’re proud to raise awareness of our services and continue empowering women every day. 🎧 Listen to the full song here: https://bit.ly/41IhKoq
