As the local specialist service in Gwent, we are struggling to survive and thrive in the current climate and elements of our work are at risk.     Despite the UK Governments pledge to halve violence against women and girls, the budget for victim services has been cut by 4.2% and our need for funding continues. 🌟 Marking Neurodiversity Celebration Week 🌟 After a conversation with Neurodivergence Wales, we are developing neuroinclusive virtual tours of our Hwbs across Gwent to promote accessibility and inclusion. Launching Spring 2025 – These virtual tours are designed to reduce the distress and uncertainty neurodivergent individuals may feel when visiting a new environment. By providing clear, informative guidance on what to expect, we’re breaking down barriers to support and ensuring our spaces are welcoming for all.  #YouSaidWeDid #StakeholdertakeUpdate #NeurodiversityCelebrationWeek

✅ What’s next? Attending wellbeing network events in 2025, including educational settings. We’re launching new QR code posters to make accessing up-to-date information about our services easier than ever. At community engagement events, we’re also providing information packs—including these discreet posters—to ensure vital support is always within reach.  Spotlighting our services on social media to clarify options and pathways  

🤝 Better Networking, Awareness & Community Engagement We attended 17 community events across Gwent in the last six months, engaging with local people, businesses, and specialist services.  This has led to:  Stronger collaborations with specialist organisations. Better understanding of services across sectors. Increased awareness through leaflets, posters & stickers. Contacting people who requested to find out more about our services. #YouSaidWeDid #StakeholdertakeUpdate 

🔍 Discreet Ways to Share Information  We’ve updated our CWA merchandise to be more discreet for signposting people to support.  In addition to our discreet branded lipbalms, our new trolley token keyrings now feature only the CWA flower logo and a QR code that links directly to our website. #YouSaidWeDid #StakeholdertakeUpdate

🚨 New Crisis Drop-In at our Newport Hwb We now have an Initial Contact Support Worker in Newport to provide immediate drop-in support. This service is now open at our Newport Hwb ensuring people can access help when they need it most.
