Can stories really change our world? Today we brought together individuals from across our member organisations and beyond to discuss this question. We heard from David Clubb, Chair of the Comisiwn Seilwaith Cenedlaethol Cymru / National Infrastructure Commission for Wales, on taking your time with future planning and how the platforms we use to tell stories matter. Anthony Green, founder of Motion Manor, talked about the importance of visualising positive futures that are emotive yet grounded in reality. Our own Sustainability Advisor, Camille Lovgreen, shared the ways she has envisioned a positive future for our climate through a series of stories, Welcome to Wales 2051: https://lnkd.in/e_VXXjKV. Thank you to our speakers and all who attended for your fruitful discussions around cutting through the noise of social media, dealing with apathy and cultural trauma sensitively, using comedy to tell hopeful climate stories, and much more. This is exactly why we run these member events, so that you can learn from each other, get into these nitty gritty questions, and come away with ideas that you can apply to your role. We had a lovely staff volunteering afternoon at Cardiff Salad Garden last week, based just behind Secret Garden Cafe in the middle of Bute Park. Our staff got involved with arranging plant pots, digging, de-weeding and even putting together some furniture! Sophie and Noa were so helpful and understanding of our different planting knowledge and abilities. We'd highly recommend a volunteering session with them. Thanks for having us! https://buff.ly/3N8D7sf
