Olafur Arnalds’ Ultimate Calm is one of my favourite podcasts, so I was over the moon when the BBC asked us to develop the identities for Radio 3 Unwind and Radio 1 Anthems. Great work by our team at D8 building upon the established look and feel of Radio 1 for Radio 1 Anthems, doubling down on a bright, energetic and feel-good energy, and Radio 3 Unwind complementing its sibling station Radio 3, with a gentler colour palette and organic water ripples that reflect the tone of the music.

What a year, bring on 2025!

De grenzen van de Randstad overstijgen met het kenmerkende geluid van FunX. 📻 Dat is de ambitie die wij aan het begin van het jaar uitspraken met het team. We ontwikkelden een frisse nieuwe huisstijl, er kwamen iconische fotoshoots, grote billboards en een gloednieuwe pay-off: 'Your City, Your Sound', met als klapstuk de nieuwe campagne die vanaf nu live is. 📸 De moodtape van FunX brengt de stedelijke jongerencultuur in beeld met prachtige shots uit het dagelijks leven, gecombineerd met diverse elementen van FunX. Het viert de urban muziekcultuur, of die nu op straat, online of in de studio plaatsvindt, en toont FunX als een onmisbaar onderdeel van het leven van jongeren. Met deze merkcampagne brengen we de nieuwe slogan tot leven. Jongeren zien door middel van geotargeting online uitsluitend de versie die aansluit bij hun eigen stad, met herkenbare beelden van plekken waar zij vaak komen en lokale helden die hen inspireren. Zo krijgt de slogan "Your City, Your Sound" een persoonlijke betekenis voor iedere stad. 🌇💜 Soms houdt een idee je zo lang in je greep dat je het niet meer los kunt laten en daarom ben ik extra trots dat het eindelijk is gelukt. Samen met een fantastisch team hebben we iets magisch neergezet. The Dutch Public Broadcaster - de Nederlandse Publieke Omroep (NPO) - has been at the heart of Dutch culture for more than a century, first on radio, then TV and more recently online, capturing life’s highs, lows and everything in between. D8 worked with de Publieke Omroep to create 'De Plek van Ons Allemaal' (The Place for All of Us), a campaign with a series of current and nostalgic archival footage at its heart, as a reminder that public broadcasting isn’t just any broadcaster; it’s a place for everyone to celebrate a shared history and progress together. Because de Publieke Omroep is a trusted space for every genre, connection, story and perspective. A space that moves us, challenges us and resonates with us. Now, then and tomorrow.

Great to see the Global Travel Exclusive range we created for Highland Park go live. The releases Land of Orkney, Sea of Orkney and Sky of Orkney are inspired by a unique landscape which has influenced the single malt since 1798 and reflects their new brand positioning; different by nature. Brilliant work by Paul Condron Rebecca Pirrie Holly Dixon Jane Cannon Tom Stacey our team at D8 and everyone else involved at Edrington. Full case study to follow shortly.

We created a WebStorm software promotional video for tech brand JetBrains as part of a campaign targeting JavaScript and TypeScript developers.   To bring the campaign to life, we created a custom suite of animated illustrations and typography. The script blends dry, self-deprecating humour with relatable insights, while a quirky AI v/o adds a playful touch in keeping with the brand voice.
