A great last day at Global Defence Helicopter 2024, and an end that also marks a beginning. Another brilliant day at Global Defence Helicopter 2024. After yesterday’s plenary session, Day#2 was Streams Day: that meant three separate theatres, each hosting their own sets of presentations, with our attendees free to pick and choose the topics that interested them the most. And with such a diverse agenda, the hardest task was deciding what to catch and what to have to miss. It’s hard to pick out highlights, but we can certainly report there was understandably keen interest in hearing about lessons learned for rotorcraft use and air power from the war in Ukraine, for example. And reinforcing the truly global nature of the event, we learned about everything from Australian Army's aviation modernisation programme to the challenges of keeping Soviet legacy fleets in the air in Eastern Europe. Attached are just a few images from events staged across the day. And on a personal note, away from the presentations themselves, this attendee’s highlights included both an invigorating 6km jog in good company around some of Warsaw’s landmarks as dawn broke, and a first chance to “fly” a helicopter in Dutch firm multiSIM BV’s mixed-reality simulator.
