🌈 This Asexual Awareness Week, we reflect on the powerful words of our Ambassador @theyasminbenoit: "As an adult, I can't help but think of how so many of my negative experiences could have been avoided – ironically – with education. Not just education about asexuality, but asexuality and race – an acknowledgement of how someone's intersections can make a big difference." At Diversity Role Models, we believe in the power of shared experiences. Our workshops provide a platform to discuss and celebrate our intersectional identities, fostering a world where everyone can authentically be themselves and thrive. #AsexualAwarenessWeek #Intersectionality #Inclusion #DiversityMatters

A dynamic charity promoting understanding and acceptance of individual differences.
About us
Diversity Role Models is a dynamic charity whose vision is a world where everyone embraces diversity and can thrive. Our mission is to end bullying based on sexual orientation and gender identity in schools and promote understanding and acceptance of broader individual differences. Collaboratively, we’re determined to create inclusive learning environments where young people know they are valued and supported, regardless of their differences. Our experienced team of educators and inspiring volunteer role models deliver in-person and online workshops for students in schools and colleges. Using pioneering educational content underpinned by the power of storytelling, we speak openly about lived experiences of difference and bullying. Our volunteer role models are at the heart of our delivery. They share their journeys towards living happy and fulfilling lives to inspire others. Since our formation in 2011, we have worked directly with 1,000+ schools in the UK. We have delivered workshops to 200,000+ young people and trained 24,000+ school staff members. Today marks the start of National Adoption Week and we want to take this opportunity to thank all of our volunteer role models who have shared their adoption journey's in classrooms across the country. Representation of different families matters. To learn about the journey to parenthood that our very own Head of Relationships went on why not revisit last years article on our website https://lnkd.in/eUUzR7Cn #NationalAdoptionWeek #AdoptionJourney #RepresentationMatters #DifferentFamilies

Today is International Pronouns Day and is aimed at making the respecting, sharing, and educating about personal pronouns commonplace. Referring to people by the pronouns they determine for themselves is basic to human dignity. Together, we can transform society to celebrate people’s multiple, intersecting identities. #InternationalPronounsDay #RespectPronouns #InclusionMatters #LGBTQ+ #Pride

✨ This Black History Month, we're celebrating the richness of diversity and the power of intersectionality! At Diversity Role Models, we're dedicated to ending LGBTQ+ bullying in UK schools by building inclusive environments where every young person—regardless of race, gender, or sexual orientation—feels accepted and respected. It's crucial to recognise all aspects of identity and empower the next generation to embrace differences and stand against prejudice. By bringing volunteer Role Models from all backgrounds and intersections into classrooms, we can give visibility, inspire empathy and ensure that every student is celebrated for their unique self. Together, we can end prejudice-based bullying and build a world where diversity is truly valued. 🌍🌈 #DiversityRoleModels #BlackHistoryMonth #Diversity #Inclusion #LGBTQ+ #Queer #Empowerment #Inspiration #RoleModels #Education #SupportDiversity #CelebrateUniqueness #gender #identity #InclusiveEducation #MakeADifference #PrideInEducation #transgender #gay #bisexual #loveislove #learning #school #students #love #knowledge #teacher #equality #diversity #equity #pride #lgbtq

Huge thank you to our funding partner Westminster Foundation for highlighting our work in their case study series. We have really enjoyed delivering to schools across Westminster and Cheshire and hope to continue working with Westminster Foundation in the future 🤩
#CaseStudy ✨ Highlighting the brilliant work of Diversity Role Models who aim to promote understanding and acceptance of individual differences and end LGBTQ+ bullying in schools. 🤝 With support from the Westminster Foundation's grant, over the past two years, Diversity Role Models has delivered student workshops in schools which feature LGBTQ+ or ally role models who speak openly about their lived experiences, building young people's empathy and understanding of diversity and equality. Importantly, their work recognises the significant role young people have in shaping a more compassionate and inclusive world.
