Welcome to our LinkedIn page. Since May 2021 we have helped over 1200 people from all walks of life without access to tech and have seen first hand the impact connectivity offers. This short video demonstrates just some of that impact. Thanks to Somerset Social Enterprise Network for creating this for us. If you or your business has some old tech to donate, please get in touch. #somerset #somersetbusiness #nonprofit

If you can, please consider clicking the link below to donate or share it with others who might want to help too and also share to your network please Many thanks - to date we have made over 1500 device donations with next to no funding so we are excited about what we can do as a full Charity Thanks for your support and donations https://gofund.me/12d14d17

DONATE IT are partnered with the brilliant Spark Somerset charity which runs the Spark iT project tackling digital poverty and allowing Somerset residents to access digital support, skills and learning. We recently donated some iPads to Charlie at the Minehead EYE where Spark Somerset hold one of their digital cafes. Here's a pic of Mike who was struggling to function in an increasingly digital world. Mike has with poor eyesight but the new iPad is easier and more enjoyable to use than his smart phone and now he listens to podcasts, watches online cooking tutorials and creates playlists of his favourite music. Just a simple example of how someone's unwanted tech can be repurposed to benefit others This iPad was collected by Somerset's FIXY van https://lnkd.in/g2UkpUbm #digitalpoverty #digitaldivide #notforprofit #somerset

We work in partnership and co-operation with our neighbours, Wiltshire Digital Drive, who pass us devices not suitable for their donation model. Recently I collected about 80 mobile phones from Natalie Luckham and have now started to pass them out to people in need in the local community. On Tuesday I took a mobile phone to Nikki, Project Manager of Father's House https://lnkd.in/e_BBetsq who is supporting a homeless person sheltering in a disused garage in Shaftesbury and needs the phone to connect to services and agencies to help find safe, secure accommodation and the chance to apply to jobs Thank you Wiltshire Digital Drive for the phones- one by one they are changing lives and giving people the chance of independence and a better future #digitalpoverty #digitaldivide #notforprofit

Thanks to Steve Rodd and The Colleges Partnership Ltd for the laptop donations. Here's one of them now in action in West Dorset and a few words from the grateful charity. "Dear DonateIT You kindly provided a laptop for the Othona Community (reg. charity No. 1154204). I'm writing to express our gratitude - to you and to the original equipment donor. The attached photo shows me discovering, with one of our volunteers, how the laptop will enable us to extend our work. With thanks and best wishes Warden - Othona West Dorset" #digitalpoverty #digitaldivide

Big thanks to Mark Burgess of Young Somerset for delivering the kit they have safely collected in the Taunton area. DONATE IT is so grateful to all our amazing 48 drop-off locations who are the life blood of our ability to give devices to people in need in our community. #digitaldivide #somerset #notforprofit

Here's circularity, lifecycle extension, community support and waste avoidance in action. DONATE IT and Wimborne Minster Environment Group teamed up and held a Tech Amnesty. We brought 12 refurbished tablets and phones for Wimborne Food Bank and Wimborne Food Community Supply to give to their customers to keep in touch. And the Tech Amnesty generated donations of 86 laptops, tablets and phones. All driven by volunteers. Helped people in digital poverty, helped the food banks do their great work, gathered up about a quarter of a ton of tech stuck in people's drawers/lofts. Well done and thanks to all involved #dorset #digitalpoverty #digitaldivide

We are continuing to support our Ukrainian guests who live with kind hosts in our community and the agencies who give them assistance. As a result of devices donated to DONATE IT by IQD Frequency Products we were able to give out 5 laptops. Obviously these devices are game-changers for their independence, learning, staying in touch and all the other benefits they bring. #digitaldivide #ukrainian #somerset

OpenHouse is a community project set up to help those most in need, including accessing services such as emergency aid, benefits and housing advice, job club and more. They were struggling to help their visitors because nearly all services now have to be accessed on-line. So DonateIT approached our regular donor of kit, Steve Rodd of The Colleges Partnership Ltd, for help. Steve kindly donated 3 high spec laptops for the OpenHouse advisors to use when helping people in need. OpenHouse help over 1,000 people a year so these laptops are going to have a huge impact. https://lnkd.in/efFnacuW #digitalpoverty #digitaldivide #notforprofit
