How can pulse oximetry manufacturers develop technology that is accurate for everyone and convenient across all environments? David Browning explores this very questions in his latest blog --> https://lnkd.in/eZw24se4 It boils down to finding an alternative site for measuring oxygen levels – and we think we’ve found it. EarSwitch® is an OBN (UK) Ltd Awards 2024 finalist! We’re thrilled to be recognised in the ‘Best Early Stage Medtech Company’ category. After all, we're proud of the growth we’ve experienced over the last few years. What happens when you lock team EarSwitch® in a room with nothing but a few clues..? We figure out how to escape, of course! We recently enjoyed a team social at Locked In A Room, and you can tell from our smiles that we all had a great time. These words from Garry Pratt really sum up the afternoon. “Thanks everyone for diving into everything today. It was lovely to see such strong EarSwitch® culture building.’’ Where shall we go next?

What should manufacturers do to address racial bias in their pulse oximetry devices? Founder and former NHS doctor Nick Gompertz has some ideas. First, device manufacturers must acknowledge the issue and analyse whether it affects their devices, roles and responsibilities. Secondly, manufacturers need to ask the question: can we ever truly correct racial inequity in our devices? If the answer’s no, then it may be time for them to develop new devices altogether. You can read Nick’s insights in full in our recent interview with him, here --> https://lnkd.in/eswSVFcW What do you think device manufacturers should do?
