Running as part of the West Midlands Health Tech Innovation Accelerator - WMHTIA, Medilink Midlands is hosting the 3rd Annual Innovations Against AMR event on 20 November. Partnering with Bruntwood, Cytecom and the newly established UKRI AMR Network, the event is running during World Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week #WAAW to raise awareness and encourage best practises to prevent the spread of drug-resistant infections. Our technology supports early diagnosis for conditions like Diabetic Retinopathy, which currently has no cure, but where timely intervention can help prevent or reduce vision loss 👁️💡 🔬 AI Diagnostics has demonstrated the ability to identify 39 distinct diagnoses from fundus images, providing healthcare professionals with critical insights to improve decision-making and patient care. The day has finally arrived! We are thrilled to have opened the West Midlands Health Tech Showcase at this year's TechWM Birmingham Tech Week! The session was led by West Midlands Health Tech Innovation Accelerator Programme Manager, Dr Luan Linden-Phillips, who began by highlighting the accelerator’s achievements since its launch almost exactly a year ago today! Next, Luke Southan, Director of SPARK UK, provided insights into some of groundbreaking innovations that make up his cohort of 20 companies. SPARK The Midlands, the first UK branch of the international Stanford University programme, landed in our region through Aston University’s direct involvement in the delivery of the WMHTIA. Two exemplary innovators supported by the WMHTIA, B13.ai and Championsys | Tech Company, showcased their innovations and shared how the programme’s invaluable support has driven the development of their technologies. Finally, WMHTIA and event delivery partners Medilink Midlands and Plug and Play UK took the stage to discuss the significant impact their respective organisations have had on advancing health tech innovation across the West Midlands.
